Because birm is trapped in molten iron and the flail was also hit by the molten iron, thus redirecting it back into birm. So birm basically hit himself with his own obsidian flail.

The molten iron is still iron. The flail will be pushed with the molten iron and onto birm.

SWARMERS ON THEIR WAY
Jakan makes more molten iron and pumps it on birm
Derrinat and Hazzan switch targets and start attacking timmy
Evantir makes the skin of himself, Jakan, Derrinat, and Hazzan like iron so they don't take damage as easily and aren't hurt by obsidian.

Timmy picks Hazzan up, holds him directly to the right of Evantir, and flame erupts from his mouth like a dragon, incinerating the duo.
Gandalf flicks his wrist, and two poles of Obsidian are shoved up Jakan's nose.
Birm emerges from the molten iron relatively unharmed since he's made of Obsidian, and the flail flings at Derrinant's head, and two big Obsidian spikes break the club end of the flail, and lava touches it, all crushing at the thing until it turned to liquid Obsidian and then being flinged towards him.
Lots of pain for him.

Gandalf raises his staff and the entire room is coated in light, blinding the four leaders of the Overworld. Birm's fists are wrapped up in lava and he goes behind Derrinant, turning the iron coating his skin into molten iron and burning his face even more and throwing him off Timmy.
Timmy stands up, his fists now coated with lava as well, and goes at the speed of light, slamming his fists into Hazzan and Evantir at high speeds, also burning up the lava and burning their face up.

Jakan makes a hard wall of iron surrounding birm on all four sides that will take some time to break through. Basically, birm is out of the fight unless he wants to damage himself a lot by using fire to superheat the iron.
Evantir moves like lightning and keeps pulling out timmy's guts so timmy is weakening by a lot.
Derrinat basically does the same thing, gouging Timmy's eyes out with her spear.
Hazzan boxes Timmy's eyes with iron fists and starts pulling out his guts too.

We only need to survive until Swarmers arrive. They got armor m8, nothing you got can beat it.

A shield of lava wraps around Timmy so if they want to attack him they'll get burned.
Timmy rolls around in his lava ball, running people over.
The Obsidian in Jakan's nose explodes, and now he has a bunch of mini obsidian pellets in his nose.
Birm puts his lava hands in Darranmant's mouth, burning it up.
Gandalf raises the lava up to the roof basically, and uses light magic to make the places that are above the lava super dark, with small sources of light on the eyes of their trio so they can still see.

Jakan brings extreme cold and makes ice on birm's and gandalfs and timmy's legs so they can't move. Jakan then uses makes lightning really high up so everyone can see. The lightning is also attracted to birm, occasionally striking him and making scorch marks.
Evantir also assists making timmy's lava shield go out with cold magic. Evantir uses healing magic to make Jakan's nose better. Derrinat uses obsidian dagger to cut birm's arm, hopefully all the way off. Hazzan continues ripping timmy's insides out.
Swarmers should be arriving just about now. Plus Chargers equipped with lasers that they shoot to destroy obsidian and my Sorcerers, weak in magic as they may be, use cold magic to make birm's trio unable to use fire magic. The swarmers swarm over timmy ripping timmy apart and aren't hurt because of their armor and Timmy's fire shield is gone.

Evantir casts ice magic into the hole in timmy, freezing timmy's insides and basically killing him from the inside. Swarmers keep swarming timmy. Any swarmers that can't reach timmy swarm birm. Chargers all fire their lasers into gandalf. Derrinat takes a laser gun and pumps siege-level lasers into birm's head. Hazzan stands back and watches. Jakan heals his nose.

Timmy sends a blast of lava to counter the thingy, Gandalf casts another light spell to blind all the swarmers, and the flail turns into two normal chains, one chain in one hand and the other part in the other. They wrap around Timmy and Gandalf, pull them towards him, and a huge pillar of Obsidian breaks through the floors, descends, and leaves them falling through LNG's palace, digging small tunnels and then filling the tunnel with lava after recoating themselves with Obsidian.

Well then. Since my swarmers have their new sealed armor and oxygen tanks, they chase birm, timmy, and gandalf to the water and dive in. Submarines and subplanes and navy ships are also there, and are going to laser birm and timmy and gandalf when they emerge in water. Because they have to emerge in water, land doesn't go on forever.
