I found a dead baby bird on the driveway underneath my tree and it was surrounded by bird poo. Apparently, there had been another one before that one, almost in the same exact spot. Not too longer afterwards, I found another one not too far away from that, by the sidewalk, hidden in the grass.
They were all in the same area, and they were all the same bird breed... so they probably came all from the same nest.
My guess is that they were kicked out of their nest while the mother was away. And they must not have been able to fly, as it appears that two fell out of the nest straight to the driveway below. One apparently tried to fly, but only got so far as the sidewalk before crashing to the cement like its siblings. But the two who were in the (nearly) exact same spot fell at different times, so the thieving bird must have made it in at least two tries.
Also, the birds in that tree have been very loud lately. My mom had the closest window to the tree, and she was kept awake at night by them ... So I bet that the bird had its eyes set on that nest for a while and tried to get it a few times but the mother bird scared it away by yelling at him.
so hmm I might have an aggressive nest-snatching bird in my tree now.
