(Based on Slacktivist's Storm The Castle - thanks Slack.)
Vakirotive
An impenetrable stronghold, and capitol of the Verium Imperiate on this world. A bastion that no army can breach, a wall that no spear can pierce. Invincible. Glorious. Impossible to fell.
Yet fall it will. So decrees the trinity that governs the Dominion. Sovereign, Voice, and Will, will let all our armies fall to destroy the last stronghold of the Imperiate. They had fought for nearly a century, costing millions of lives for the Dominion, hundreds of millions or billions for the Imperiate. At first, the Imperiate had swept upwards and onwards, crushing all resistance in its path. Even with their better weapons, armor, and training, the Dominion could not stop the Imperiate.
The Verium Imperiate is an extradimensional empire, spreading through entire galaxies and taking them over. They have more than trillions of soldiers, spread out across their territories. They have billions alone on this one world, fighting the Dominion. While their soldiers lack quality, they more than make up for it in quantity and brute force. The leaders of the Dominion were losing hope, when a device was uncovered. Lost deep underground untold millennia ago, left by a race fleeing the very Imperiate the Dominion fights now, it gives the power to fight the Imperiate. Unprepared and caught by surprise, the Dominion has used this weapon, codenamed CLOCKWORK, to push the Imperiate back to Vakirotive.
The Imperiate fights to defend the portal that lets them move between dimensions and galaxies. If it is closed, the Dominion is safe until the Imperiate find a way to open another portal in this galaxy, and come spilling through once more. The armies of the Dominion and Imperiate battle at the gates of Vakirotive, neither yielding, neither gaining. Hundreds die in the blink of an eye.
The fruits of careful planning show themselves now. A tunnel, large enough to fit several squadrons of aircraft through, leads straight to the heart of Vakirotive. A squadron of elite Dominion pilots, who were able to weave through the battle to the tunnel without being destroyed, have arrived. Their craft are badly damaged, but they must prevail. This is a challenge that they may not survive. But the chance to reach the Imperiate portal cannot be ignored. The mission goes ahead, no matter how many losses are sustained or how badly damaged each aircraft is.
Operation Edgepoint is a go.
-RULES-
1: No godmodding, perfect characters, metagaming, powerplaying, etc. You control yourself, I control the universe around you.
2: Your aircraft is badly damaged. Unless you can get it repaired somehow, it won't be flying well and it certainly won't stand up to much more damage.
3: Death is possible. When flying a damaged aircraft through unknown amounts of enemies and other situations that may be encounterd in a large tunnel, the chances of survival are slim.
4: All Dominion aircraft look like this. The parts in blue is primary coloring, yellow is secondary coloring. You can have your own colors on your aircraft, being an elite pilot, or you can keep the default colors by saying "Default" on the primary and secondary colors area on the CS.
5: Your callsign is a letter followed by three numbers. A-Z, 1-9.
