For a few years Azei enjoyed peace, until a horrible sorceror from another realm emerged, calling himself the Dark Lord, Aros. A short war was waged, and a man whose name has been forgotten arrived just in time, with a specially enchanted sword that he defeated this Dark Lord with.
For thirty years tension built across Argradon, as well as the other continents. And then the Dark Lord emerged again.
A terrible war that claimed the lives of thousands and spanned the globe began. It became immortalized by the name "The War of Darkness."
A band of heroes was formed by Balròon, an old man who was secretly the Wizard-King of Iscandar. In this group, were a few thieves, a bounty hunter, a healer with a knack for sailing, a King, two Rangers, an elven man named Alaris who could only be described as "The Stranger", and even an elf girl. They were dubbed The Legion of the Sword.
First, Aros razed much of Exon's villages to the ground.
Then his spy changed Exon's fate forever.
After that, he and his army somehow managed to breech Leham's walls. A battle that shall never be forgotten ensued. Many Rangers, soldiers and civilians died, but it only helped to make the legion grow stronger.
It took ten years, but the Legion of the Sword defeated Aros forever.
They thought they had peace once more, but after ten years, a new threat was found. The vampire curse, placed by a witch upon a girl named Marceline. It gave anyone affected by it the ability to seduce or compel others to do their bidding. As well as sharp teeth, claws, tremendous speed and strength, and near invulnerability to everything but light magic.
A Princess trained among the Rangers of Aertir, whose name was Xian, decided to become a Vampire Hunter after a vampire killed her brother Dannothel.
Retired members of the legion gathered once more to battle the Cursed.
Balròon, the Wizard King of Iscandar, from the realm of Belas Alar, returned to Azei, as he suspected this curse was related to the return of Ragosh the Necromancer, who had helped Aros during the War of Darkness.
The legion prepared to go to war, but many strange things happened, and the legion was no more.
So Balròon trained with some young men and women with potential, and formed a new Legion.
So began the Campaign of the Cursed, which lasted many years, for they knew not how to defeat the vampires, when very few could wield strong enough light magic, and that number was growing thinner by the day.
At the end of it all, Xian killed Marceline, but things went wrong, and she was turned into a vampire herself.
Now, with the curse pumping through her veins, she went home and slew her father, taking over the throne of Aertir.
