Anyone look back at their old selves and just ... cringe?
Rhetorical. I'm well aware that most or all of you (including the lurkers) would answer yes to that question.
In particular, I cringe at how angsty (sometimes melodramatic in this way) I was and how I tried so hard to one-up people without actually doing anything meaningful. I either tried to be overtly controversial or tried too hard to suck up to the image of what was popular at the time, and I think it reflected in the overall way I conducted myself. Looking back at it, it was insufferable.
I apologize for anyone who had to interact with me, whether as an acquaintance or something beyond. You have a gold medal in my mind for putting up with this.
I'm curious as to how the rest of you who still come here occasionally tend to view your younger selves, as well as what personality traits specifically you found the most intolerable from that time. I think given that most of us are pretty far removed from that period, it's okay to dunk a little bit on your past cringe.

As a side note, I also find that it's in these moments where I reflect on what I used to be like, including more technical and skill-related aspects like writing style, that I consciously realize how far I've come since then despite not immediately noticing the improvement.

I was just an asshole when I was younger. If anything, I just cringe at the way that I treated people, on ROBLOX and elsewhere.

I can relate to the overly angsty over dramatic stuff all too well. Now I'm just a somewhat typical confused 18 year old who realizes I have some issues, and I try not to glamorize mental health issues as just some creative muse like I used to.

Back then I was a serious attention whore but I was too lazy to do anything serious. I'd get myself involved, and do nothing for a long time cause it was more effort than I'd like. I would also say jokes that people took seriously and my policy was "fuck em I don't need to explain myself".
Also a lot of the ISRPs I made were just fucking weird. Like, I don't do drugs but if you told me that my ideas were made while I was tripping on LSD I wouldn't doubt it.

I was definitely an attention whore. I don't think it was on purpose, it was just more the fact that I was socially awkward and learned my social skills (or... I guess lack of) from TV shows and other dramatized things. It doesn't help that I was a lonely child either, lol.
I eventually learned social skills, somewhat, and now I avoid attention-seeking whenever I can, lol.

Young me was just as socially anxious and self-aware as I am now, if anything I was funnier or at least more outgoing back then.
The truth is, 15 year-old looks at 23-year-old me and cringes; not the other way around.
