(I feel as if I need to contribute to this forum by creating something. And thus, create I shall.)
Thousands of years ago, there was a war, known to the various races as "the Shade Wars." An ancient god, (who some of the more irritating scholars refer to as 'Kei' by mistake) achieved lichdom, burning away his immortal body and granting even more immense power. The Arch-Lich, as they called it, was a being with enough strength to wage war on the entire world. And so it did, bringing forth servants of undeath and decay wherever it reared it's ugly head. The other gods formed under the banner of Order and were able to vanquish the Arch-Lich...but not without some help.
You see, each of the races, which consist of, but are not limited to:
Humans
Elves (of many varieties)
Dwarves
Dark Dwarves
Fae
Were-kind
Nature spirits (Elementals)
Dragons
and demigods
All joined their kingdoms in order to beat back the Arch-Liches forces, who were great in strength and quantity. With the lack of a good meat shie-...erm, I mean army, the undead legions of the Arch-Lich would have overwhelmed the gods by the liches side. Unfortunately, defeating the army of what seemed to be billions of undead and creatures of vile darkness, the generals of each kingdom were forced to take on the Curse of the Sinner. This curse forces a being to retain immortality and increase the skill of their particular fields, but they are forced to become liches to do so. And so, the generals of each army kept this curse a secret from their subordinates until the Arch-Lich was slain. Each general left and placed themselves in a grand final resting place. This is where you come in. You are one of the generals of the ancient army from thousands of years ago. The Child of the Arch-Lich has been born and brought into power, and he seeks to take the place of his re-awoken father. (TBC)
Weird Mechanics:
Yes, you are a Lich. Being a lich grants you more power than mortals, but you are far weaker than normal liches. A lich may die twice without consequence, but upon the third time, death is achieved.
