I just watched The Black Cauldron, "the worst film made by Disney", and I have a few comments about it. First, it's actually a good movie, and far better than many other Disney movies - like many such movies, it was mostly screwed up by executives meddling with the creative process and intentionally trying to make it fail. Despite that, it holds up rather well as a fun, action-packed fantasy movie, a piece of pure escapism like most fantasy stories.
Second, I have noticed a handful of similarities between the characters of the movie and some planned NPCs that I have for Fantasy RP. The biggest is that there's a minor knight NPC who will probably be expanded upon with the same first name as the protagonist, Taran. The similarities between the two end there, though. The second point of similarity is between the villain, the Horned King, and a handful of villains that I have planned. It's arguable that that's just the case because the Horned King is just such a generic villain, but he's also a good villain and if I'd watched the movie when I was younger I would have found him legitimately frightening.
Third, it's probably the most underrated cartoon movie ever. It's not perfect (a studio executive cut out twelve minutes of it, unfortunately), but it's a good movie as opposed to the terrible movie that people claim that it is. You should give it a watch if you haven't, because it is actually really good. It's also fairly short as well, at an hour and twenty minutes.

? But I liked the Black Cauldron? In what world is that the worst Disney movie? I’ve mostly seen jokes to that effect ( like this article), but there’s also quite a few critics who dislike it ( like this one).

I've only seen it once, but from what little I can remember I liked it.
