Well over half of my posts in the past year have pertained to roleplaying, or been in RP threads themselves, so not only are we (sort of) active, we're actually something of an RP community once again. Sort of.

The few of us still here, at least. Some old people come and go, but there's also something of a core group that's still somehow alive. It may seem weird that we're so sentimentally attached to a forum that I ran so poorly, but lots of these friendships are five or six years old by now. If my friendship with Duck were a person, they would be biologically old enough to be a parent. Just let that sink in for a minute. |

That's a little terrifying. Twice over the course of probably two dozen RPs we’ve both been in. Also, it’s not exactly like Othan and Thalla are a healthy relaionship (but Ielle and Thander Marthus seemed to turn out mostly fine anyway). Besides, the wikipedia article that I gave the link to would be a little terrifying no matter what, other than when it’s very terrifying. |

Even on the Roblox forum people didn’t RP that much. There was the occasional one that lasted a few weeks or more (mostly ISRPs and PW) but nothing else really cemented itself for a long period. We were the roleplay forum that preferred talking off topic than RPing (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing). |

I guess it was more a perception thing (when I first came in, I was looking to RP, and if you remember, I was doing quite the bad job at joining the community.) The more I became a part of it, the less I was RPing, which seems to be the natural order in this community. |

Sort of. That's honestly better than any time I remember since we've been on Bannanachair. I haven't seen much roleplaying since I first joined the Roblox forum back in 2015. So I actually decided to just go and count that, and I was actually maybe wrong. I have made about 750 posts this year, of which 167 have been on Fantasy RP, 25 on Everwake (signup thread plus ISRP thread), one was a CS for a Fallen Ascendants reboot that never got off the ground, 10 were from me necrobumping and temporarily continuing Traverse twice, 2 were from Cave Tricks, 108 were on my interest check thread for Fantasy RP (which I've since been using to dump maps) and about 50 in other misc. threads about RPing that weren't themselves RPs. That's just under half of all my posts this year (48.3%). Still a better percentage than at any other stage in my entire roleplaying career, though, with maybe the exception of 2012 or 2013. |

So I know why I thought that well over half my posts were in Fantasy RP - it's because well over half my wordcount was. I, personally, have written over 35,000 words in roleplaying replies to Fantasy RP, plus an over 10,000 word long OP. To read the entire thread as it is right now, all slightly over 18 pages of it, would be about the length of a short novel. It's about 80% setup for what will be the meat of the RP, and about 20% setup for more setup for the meat of the RP. It will reach a fairly decent length by the time it concludes, I think, but on the other hand, I'm pissed off at myself for doing so little with so many words. Edit: And yes, I counted. |
