The funny thing is that I've seen recent job postings for Roblox, namely for QA team members. I imagine the main responsibilities of such would involve being public enemy #1 for the company to throw under the bus.

Alright, alright. I had my laughs and now realize that they're actually this thick. Like, I actually think it's incredibly funny how many bad updates they've put out in the past years, or hell, even the past year alone. It's like it's a game to them. Who can come up with the worst update? How many times can we make ourselves look like complete idiots to set a record? From a rational point of view, barely any of the updates they've put out have even struck decent, and that's a generous statement. I am honestly of the belief that they're either fully aware that they're running the site into the ground as they go and trying the worst, or they're too moronic to realize it. They say they're not trying to police people, but they just put out a whole blog post regarding rules as to what you can and can't do with their logo - probably the most arbitrary thing they could possibly do. It has to be this exact color, should usually be the full logo but sometimes IF it's appropriate you can put the icon but the icon must also be a certain color and do not put any shadows, distortions, or any effects on the ROBLOX logo, it must be exactly these dimensions and the O must be in exactly this spot, oh and also for the fuck of it you MUST have Roblox in exactly that capitalization, not roblox or ROBLOX despite the fact that it is advertised as ROBLOX just about everywhere else on the site. Not only that, but they removed forums, so it's not like people can talk about it. Nope, they need to go through a more than likely insanely biased filtration system that will stamp out anything negative said about their updates. So basically, you just get the impression that everyone in the comments sucks off the mods, which isn't far from the truth. They've been policing everyone in just about every field ever since day one of this ridiculous campaign that most likely started with the price floor that made things incredibly hard to obtain for NBCs, and later impossible when they removed tix altogether without adding another way to gain currency without buying BC. My ass they don't want to police their users. They're slowly ridding themselves of just about everything that made ROBLOX fun. The site is a shithole. The mods/admins are garbage. The logo sucks, modified or not. The icon is nonsensical. They don't know shit. But that's just my two cents on the sorry state of this heap of trash. I think when they started removing features instead of adding them was when the site turned to shit. Personal Servers, Build mode, tix, the forums, etc. all were destroyed.

I know I haven't been on Studio in a while but fuck, I was hopping to play around with that. They better still have that system to combine blocks or I swear I'm gonna flip.

And since when were meshes gone? Last I checked, they were still there, and that was recently. Also, Roblox has made some small positive tweaks and additions, but those are barely noticable and unannounced. The only way you're likely to know is if you happen to see a post about it on the dev forum.

Depending on the area, absolutely. I'm sure working at Roblox isn't all bad, but between the timing of the job posting, its description and the timing of all these updates; Like I said, it sounds like they want someone to throw under the bus and act as the public face for the community. Fetching jackasses some coffee over at EA would be better than that any day. If it was the same role there, though; Oh fuck no, haha. Not until people inevitablely forget about BF2 and go back to loyally buying all the shit they peddle.

Update: Here is an example of a good idea: devforum.roblox.com/t/introducing-new-material-glass/64231/46 (Benefits developers and aspiring builders.)Here is another example: (Benefits developers and aspiring builders) Here are examples of bad updates: -removal of tix (Bad for NBC) -removal of forums (Now the only forums left are the highly exclusive and regulated Devforums, which only some people can post on, and only if they're being "nice") i think they only are nice to their elite developers and leave the rest of the community to die

It's like how Bioware answered the loot problem when going from ME1 to ME2:
"Oh, getting spammed with a million drops after each fight? We'll just cut out the loot altogether, then, for ME2. That should solve the problem, right?"

That should solve the problem, right?" Yeah, that was kinda depressing. I didn't really mind the ME1 loot at all. I actually quite enjoyed since it let me set up a troll build with Tali, Wrex and Vanguard Shepard where they all had shotguns with the explosive rounds (It wasn't very good, but it sure was satisfying as hell to see Michael Bay explosions everywhere). With ME2, however, I lost my main source of income. I couldn't kill a thousand enemies and get bank from it. I cried so hard.

Right? The loot system in ME2 was confusing as hell at first. It took me way too long to realize the weapons aren't variable in damage but rather, variable in what they can damage. I want to use my favorite shotgun, dammit! Not whichever one works best on armor.

I honestly just used Warp or Overload for those things, but the weapons damage different things. Damn.

Yeah, the only thing that differentiates them is the little "Effective against X" messages under each weapon.
Andromeda's loot style was decent, but the lack of being able to outfit your companions kind of destroyed half the purpose of it.

And wait, you can't outfit companions!? How the hell to build their stats then!?

Oh it's glorious; You don't. You just rank up their very few skills, the last step of each being locked behind a loyalty mission, and you'll have everything leveled for them before getting halfway through the game.
Andromeda's companions only act as bullet sponges, assuming they actually manage to draw attention.
But the banter they nailed, as little as that counts. The idle conversations while driving around were absolutely fantastic.

Alright, how does Bioware go from DA:I where you can custom make gear not just from set materials but from any material so long as the tier is a high enough level to... that?

That's what happens when you hand a project off to the B team. Iirc, the most experience Bioware Montreal had with ME was working on their Multiplayer.
Hopefully the main team works on DA4 because I loved Inquisition. I'm actually surprised so many people disliked it; Sure, the timing with the Witcher coming shortly after was a bit unfortunate with comparisons being made, but I thought Inquisition still did a decent job with exploring open world ideas. I'm excited to see Trevinter, home of the Darkspawn and basically all of Thedas' problems, haha.
I'm also extremely curious to see what effects the War Table Operations might have on the next installment. While most were pretty instant results, some definitely seemed like they would have lasting effects.

I couldn't get too far into the game because I kept wanting to make a different character and redo things (The furthest I've ever gotten was with a Qunari rogue (And then there was a Qunari mage. For shits and giggles)). The places were beautiful, the story (Or what I've seen of it) was amazing, and the choices were hardcore (I had to scratch my brain over and over about who to support between Mages and Templars. I mean, the Mages aren't wrong but I don't like how they rebelled and at the same time I don't like the Templars).

Haha, I hear ya. My first time I actually wore myself out as one of those idiots who 'Hinterlands'ed it, spending ~50 hours running around the Hinterlands before even realizing there were other zones. Andromeda had the same problem, but somehow they were even larger and emptier zones. But the story was absolutely fantastic. It was a perfect combination of "You're the chosen one" and "Actually, you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time."
That's one of my biggest gripes about Skyrim; I don't like plots with the PC character being a bland hero who will save the world because this one guy a thousand years ago said so. That's why I will always like Oblivion more; Once again, you're not special in any God-given way. You're just an unfortunate SoB in the wrong place at the wrong time.
