I'll be on an aeroplane for the next 36 hours, with no internet connection and not much to do that's not my laptop. I'll sleep for a bit, but also expect me to maybe write some stuff for here. In 5 hours, as of me writing this thread, my plane will take off, but I don't know if I'll have internet when I land, so expect me to be nonexistent-ish until Saturday or Sunday at the very least.

Only about 5 hours or so are for the actual flight. The other 30 is to be spent getting through security and boarding.

I just did an hour of security and I’m at the gate now, ready to board my flight literally to nearly the antipode of where I sit.

The longest flight in the world is around 18 hours long, Tim.

I'm posting using in-flight WiFi. I'll be landing in eleven and a half hours and then going onto another plane and flying for a couple more hours.

That doesn't make the flight 36 hours long.

Ohh, don't be a smartass. A flight with multiple layovers is still considered one flight, at least as far as airlines are concerned.
And Goddamn, that makes me love first class even more. Last flight I had the line for security looked like it stretched halfway down the airport; I got through my lane in about 30 seconds at the painstaking cost of $20.

I put in a request for an upgrade to business, but all the business class seats were booked.

Aviation enthusiasts don't consider flights with layovers to be one flight, and that's the way it should be.

The last thing we need is airlines charging three different flights for a single trip to India at three different prices.
God, could you imagine having to play connect-the-dots for long-distance travel? Travel patterns would probably end up being a lot less direct for most people interested in saving a buck.

I'm glad I'm way too broke to travel anywhere that's too far to reach in reasonable time by coach.

Just imagine the industry that would emerge around finding the cheapest, quickest route. "I can save you $200 if you take the stopover in Boston, but that will take you another three hours. If you choose to stop over in DC instead you'll save a mere $150, but you'll save an hour on the Boston stopover..."

I'm about to board my flight. Five hour stopovers are a pain in the ass. It's not enough time to sleep (though I haven't slept since I woke up on the morning of the 22nd) but it's long enough to be just a really annoying stopover.

Enjoy the flight? I just flew first class for the first time a few days ago. I thought just paying for the extra legroom was nice, but holy shit is First Class something else. Had a nice Caesar salad with smoked salmon and pecan... Cheesecake, I think? And probably damn near a whole bottle of red wine since they apparently never cut you off, haha.
That was also the first time I got groped patted down by TSA. I feel like the guy was doing a bit more than just checking for drugs...

I've only ever flown economy and occasionally business when I can get the upgrade.
Also, in his defense, you do a lot of drugs, I think.

Which I will admit I probably smelled a bit like skunk. Though pfffft, I've successfully smuggled marijuana through an airport. Prolly shouldn't have, but meh. Honestly I think it's the hair. My sister gave me a somewhat emo-esc haircut about 6 months ago and I never touched it since, so it probably went from emo to stoner.

I pretty much just shave it all off, and then let it grow for at least a quarter of a year, sometimes longer (I once had it grown to shoulder length just for shits and giggles), before I shave it all off again.

I'm going to be on another flight tomorrow evening for a roughly similar length of time. I'll try to do some writing for Fantasy RP, I think, but I don't know if I'll be able to, because this time I'm flying with my entire family.

The plane takes off in fewer than five hours, so this will be the last post that I make here for at least 48 hours, quite possibly even longer (though I don't really actually know because I haven't calculated the timezone difference yet). Duck14, Tikobe, please have replies up on Fantasy RP for me to reply to when I'm next able to log onto Bannanachair.

Greetings from Abu Dhabi airport! There’s a Cinnabon here!
Okay, there are a lot of airlines that operate out of the UAE. Like, a weirdly high number for the population here.

I’m on Amtrack 233 from Grand Central Station to Albany and trains are much better than planes.
