Goddamn, that's straight diabolical if true. Not sure this exactly translates into online gaming, but wouldn't there be a huge risk of Double Jeopardy, and thus a big no-go?

I remember getting a 3-dayer for saying 'Shit' on accident. I wrote a PM asking for a customized shirt, and from context it was pretty damn clear it was a typo, but oh well.
Then I became Sorcus' pet for a while and I could cuss people out and get a warning at best. I remember one day in particular I was feeling kind of pissy, I dunno why, decided to take it out on some of the other poor subforums. 4 warnings, not a single ban.
Favoritism is alive and well in Roblox HQ.

There are ways to bypass it and there was a way to see what was going to get hashtagged before posting a thread (the Preview button). |

Leaving the RPF doesn't need to be justified. The fact that there are sites out there with much larger communities and much fewer rules aside means there was almost no reason to stay; If anything needs justified, it'd be that.
Am I the only one that remembers the original filter? The thing was finicky as hell, sometimes a missing capital letter being enough to set it off. And if you did? Well, you better hope you wrote it in a text document, because there was only a 50/50 chance pressing the back button would restore your text. Otherwise, you know you wrote something 'inappropriate' but good luck figuring out what it was.

They clearly never look at the context whatsoever, and that annoys the hell out of me. Heck, I've gotten warned for asking for requests. Not even any offsite links in the post; no bad words or anything; just "Hey, want sone requests?" or some equally innocent drawing thread. Also: Gettimg warned/banned for something that someone else said because you quoted them. |

I was always a kiss-ass, so I don't think I have any other good, unjustifiable bans. Just me getting away with being a crude little shit, haha.
I do hope the mod who banned me had a good laugh, at least. If I remember my words correctly... "Hey, I was looking through your shits and you seem to be pretty good at making clothing."

Oh that filter was the absolute fucking worst. I remember for my mech RP, sometimes I had to write G-LAW, sometimes G-law, and sometimes g-law. And Crescent Crusade was blocked about 40% of the time, otherwise I'd have to call them the CC.
And I never knew which variation it wanted for each post, so it was always a blind guess on whether or not my post would work.

It wasn't, it was the only reasonable thing to do and at least a tiny bit of the """"community"""" was spared and sorta stuck together in a forum instead of being wiped out by every retarded update to the forums (which would then be wiped out entirely by the staff themselves.) |

Happy, if we didn't move to Bannanachair, the community wouldn't continue existing. By now all of us would be doing different things on different sites in different places. We already have a bit of that, actually.

Yes, but like I've said already, we could have stayed together in the RPF for around a year before the forum "upgrade" came around, and even then, we could try to petition against it. We didn't have to move to BC, but we did, which was a worse thing to do then just stay at the RPF. |

Had we stayed at the RPF, nothing would have changed. We'd have spent a few more months or weeks at the shithole, with a sorry excuse for a filter and a fraction of the community left and almost no one to replace everyone who had already moved on. Leaving the RPF, any one of the several times we did so, was the best, and later only real, option.
Nothing we could've done would have changed that fact. For the greater good of actually keeping even a falling community together, we did the wiser thing and went somewhere else.

You guys don't listen to a thing I say. I would say it's the opposite. In addition, I'm sure we all understand what you're trying to say. But when so many people disagree with you, and have actually bothered to give a real explanation alongside why what you said wouldn't have worked, simply ignoring it all in favor of sticking to the story you want to believe only proves that it's just some odd dream you had - nobody else has any reason to believe it to be true. Staying on the RPF was just that. I don't trifle with unrealistic possibilities. I'm sure most others would say the same. |
