(Top-tier memory. My usual color-coding will be off, typing this at a new PC.)
Rioto
"Gahaha!" I laugh victoriously and point back at Jockey, the driver. "I told you he knew who I was." As I gloated Shaymin chirped along with glee. I raised my hands and placed them flatly on my head. "Robin, it's awesome to see you again." I cheered. "I had a feeling when you heard about this Dialga problem you'd be the first one here." I said, assuming he had come for the same issue as I did. "Especially with all this stupid controversy following you, it's amazing how ungrateful people can be." I say with an annoyed glare.
I peer into the trees and see the silhouette of a girl behind Robin. "Who would that be?" I ask mockingly. "You're not hiding my replacement from me, are you?"
As I spoke Jockey approached from behind and set his arm of my shoulder. "Stop talking already, Bentley." He said in an exasperated voice. He looked up at Robin and shook his head with a smile. "I can't believe you know this roller-skated clown."

(Nice! Glad that was right. Knew it wasn’t and a few of your other characters didn’t fit either. But Rioto sure did.)
Robin
I chuckled and motioned for Lilly to follow me into the clearing. These two meant well and if they knew about the Dialga problem then it was worth sticking with them or at least learning what they knew. “That’s Lilly, she’s travelling with me at the moment and yeah, I sure do. Rioto and I met in the Ilex Forest some time ago, a simpler time for sure. A lot has happened since then.”
I frowned and stared for the moment. What had changed for Rioto? So much had changed for me. But what about him? “How did you hear about this Dialga problem?”

Rioto
As I watched the girl exit from behind the tree, my colleague berated me as usual. As Robin asked his question I raised my fist triumphantly.
"How would we know about Dialga? Well, it is our job." I said in a mock smug voice. "Legendary Disaster Prevention Force." I gloated. "Jockey here works under me, I am an officer believe it or not."
Shaymin chimed along with me as I spoke. "We got a lot of reports of earthquakes and time/space manipulation from our radars." I tried to explain. "I was betting I would see you here, you're a friend to pokemon; legendary or otherwise."
"And as for you, Miss Law." I say. "Quite frankly I'm surprised to see you after the news reports I've seen." As I spoke the girl awkwardly fidgeted and seemingly tried to brush off what I had said.
"Ah well, so what do you know about the situation?" I asked Robin and the girl.

Robin
News reports? We would have to talk about that later. No doubt I would find myself in even more trouble now.
But what did we know about this Diagla situation? Enough to seem in the know. I trusted Rioto but I hadn’t seen him in a very long time. As for Jockey, I hadn’t met him before, I didn’t know either way. But did this have something to do with Team Rocket?
“I see. Legendary Disaster Prevention Force. Could have used you guys in Hoenn when all that Elemental Order stuff went down. Though I guess you’re even busier these days. Glad to know we have some help.” How I had not heard of them before? I needed to read the paper or watch the news more. I needed to have time to do those things more.
“Well, Diagla. It’s a strange one for sure. This island was basically infested by fossil Pokémon earlier today. They were everywhere and forced some of our friends into the volcano. There we discovered Diagla and saw the legendary use its time warping ability to bring fossils back to life.”

Rioto
Thrusting an arm into the air I cheered lazily. "Two points." I mumbled to my partner.
Jockey cleared his throat and answered Robin. "Our organization is fairly new, our founders started it up in Alola after a spike in disasters related to legendary pokemon."
"Do you have a camp setup around here?" I ask Robin after walking over to the big vehicle we had hopped out of. "We were just planning to sleep in this big guy." I said tapping on the hood of the large truck-style automobile; it had a Tauros painted over the primarily black exterior.
"We're waiting until morning to check out this Dialga nest." I said to Robin and Lily.

I looked to Lilly and nodded. They were trust worthy, I knew one of them and that to me was enough to have them join us at the plane. “Yeah, we have a small camp nearby, we can take you there. Well more of a plane than a camp but not much difference.”
“If you plan on returning to see Diagla I’ll come with you. It’s a matter that you may need a little assistance with and I personally want to learn more about it.”

News reports? I scowled. I looked at Robin after he spoke and decided to go with his word, but personally I didn't like this kid on roller-blades.
As we all headed back to the plane I looked at Robin and Rioto. I glanced around after a bit of walking and noted the disappearance of the kid's partner. Before I could speak, the kid on roller-blades spoke as if reading my mind. "He's headed back to our base in Alola." He said.
I puzzled over that silently. Isn't Dialga a major threat? Instead, I stayed quiet, I didn't want to insult Robin's friend.
I watched as the strange man maneuvered over and around roots and stumps.
My ears perked as I heard the bushes rustle in the direction we were heading. "Kabu- Kabu-" A cry!... As I deciphered the cry it lunged from the shadows with it's long blade-like arms reeled back behind it.
"Kabutops!"

Even I winced in shock as the Kabutops jumped in our path. This was one of those fossil Pokémon that Diagla was bringing back but something else had agitated it. Something none of us could place. I didn’t want to do much harm to it if it could be helped.
“Back!” I yelled at the Pokémon as I reached for Sceptile’s pokeball. There was always a chance we couldn’t help but harm the beast, I’d have to see what it intended.

Rioto
As the Kabutops charged at us I noticed Robin hesitating, this was my chance to prove myself. I reached for the pokeball on the right side of my belt.
"Alright, go Scyther!" I shouted and tossed the pokeball into the air releasing the form of the according pokemon. Almost instantly the Kabutops' blades met the blades of my pokemon. The two pokemon were at a stand-still and neither seemed to be able to move safely.
"Perfect! You think you got it?" I asked my pokemon. It responded in turn. I smiled and looked at Robin. "What should we do about this guy?" I ask my old friend. The Kabutops growled out aggressively, and yanked his blades a bit yet stayed locked in place.

I nod and regather myself. It seemed like Rioto had made the right move there, though I would hope my own reaction would have worked. Either way, what could we do with this Kabutops.
“Nice move there Rioto,” I hadn’t seen him with a Scyther last time round, nor a Shaymin. Only a Wartortle and that Girafarig. “As for this guy? We need a way of knowing what’s causing all this anger. It can’t just be the Diagla, that’s bringing them back to life not harming them.” I took out a pokeball and threw it at the Kabutops. Having it in our control might help the investigation.

Rioto
I felt a sigh of relief leave my lips as the prehistoric pokemon disappeared in a brilliant red flash. The pokeball shook once, then twice, then the ball snapped open. The Kabutops reformed before our group again and scuffed its feet across in dusty ground. "Looks like we got a fighter."
It was then that I noticed the crackling sound surrounding us and the dark forms inching along the trees. "Robin, look at all the trees around us." I spoke to him in a hushed and alert tone. Small dome-shaped pokemon were making their way up the nearby trees; Kabuto, and a lot of them.
They weren't attacking. They seemed to be watching the Kabutops, it was in that moment I realized the Kabutops was charging at my pokemon with what seemed to be a Slash ready. It was quick, and my pokemon was down. I recalled the creature to his pokeball and looked at Robin.
"Welp, you're the one trying to catch it. Looks like it's up to you."

I shook my head, looked like it wasn’t going to be that easy after all. It rarely was. Well, if this Pokémon was looking for a fight I couldn’t stick around as a neutral party stopping it from harm. I reached for my belt and pulled out Sceptile’s ball, it didn’t stand a chance. “Sceptile,” I said and it popped out of the ball raring to go as always.
He glared at the Kabutops and slashed his arm leaves against each other. “Leaf Blade,” I commanded and my Pokémon pounced forth.

General RP
The Kabutops met the blade of the grass pokemon with his own in an instant, it snickered to itself as it attempted to overpower the Sceptile. As the beast pushed forward it seemingly buckled, the grass-type move proved too powerful. The sneering pokemon pulled his glare from the Sceptile to Robin, looking him over once.
The Kabuto on the trees were seemingly patient as they watched the ongoing clash of pokemon. The prehistoric pokemon began to lower its blades in, what seemed to be, a challenge.
Kabuto quickly yanked away and began to wind up for an X-Scissor.

It looked like this would turn into a proper fight now. The Kabutops was tough, they often were, but this one had grit and that was special. But even then I would back Sceptile in this encounter, I always would.
“Sceptile block that move with another Leaf Blade,” I commanded. The leaves on his arms glowed once again as the Pokémon reared up to block the walking fossil.

As the Kabutops' blades met that of his opponent's, a deep and resonating noise let loose; not at all like blades clashing but more akin to two logs striking each other. The Kabuto lurking on the trees let loose a cheering crackle as they witnessed the contenders clash.
The Kabutops leaned close to apply pressure on the Sceptile's arms. Then the prehistoric pokemon suddenly dropped low to the ground and attempted to sweep the Sceptile's legs out from under it with a Low Kick.

Sceptile fell to the floor with a thud caught out by the swiftness of the Kabutops. This was a tough Pokémon, a very tough one. But so was Sceptile, he would keep fighting. “Bullet Seed,” I commanded. Sticking to grass type moves would gain me an advantage here, even if Sceptile’s signature Leaf Blade hadn’t yet found purchase.
Sceptile cocked his head upwards after falling and shot a procession of seeds out of his mouth toward its fossil foe.

As the Kabutops felt the grass type fall to the ground he lifted his bladed arms above his head confidently with intent to skewer his foe. However, he was met with a barrage of seeds that halted his train of action. The prehistoric monster stumbled backwards and attempted to block the oncoming projectiles but only managed the latter half of the attack.
The Kabutops, noticeably shaken by the attack leaned back and threw one blade forward which sent out an explosive slicing wave; Air Slash. The beast was seemingly building distance as it began throwing another Air Slash at Sceptile.

That wasn’t good. We had landed the hit but Sceptile wasn’t great against Air Slash but even then he was my oldest Pokémon. It would take more than a couple of hits to take the grass type down. We just needed to find a way back in this once those hits had landed. Sceptice glanced at me for a moment and I nodded.
“Agility,” I muttered. We had to build into the contest.
Sceptile took the hit leaving an instant bruise across its chest. And then it ran, Sceptile were already faster than most but this Sceptile was about about to get faster and faster.

The gathered Kabuto cheered at the attack landing onto the Sceptile, however the Kabutops was focused. He noticed the change in his opponents speed, it roared in frustration at this new gap in power. The Kabutops tightened the muscles underneath its hard plating and prepared for any oncoming attack as Kabutops began training its eyes to try to compete with the opponent's footwork.
Lily and Rioto watched in awe at the scene when suddenly Lily noted quickly upon remembering. "I have to go make sure Riley is okay!" She nodded to Robin while reaching for her Vibrava's pokeball. Rioto followed Lily's gaze and looked at the young champion.

“Let Carl know we will be a bit,” I yelled after her breaking my attention from the fight for only a moment. I turned to her. “Be careful.”
There were a lot of things going on here on the island. I didn’t know even half of it really but the answer would come soon enough. What had got this Kabutops so angry? It had the Kabuto happy. Maybe they perceived our presence as an invasion of some kind.
Sceptile took the reins now and continued to accelerate until diving in for another Leaf Blade. It knew the strategy was to play fast. Our team worked around speed.

The surge in speed hadn't gone unnoticed by the tough-shelled pokemon. It began to attempt to boost its own speed by using Rock Polish. As it began attempting to match its grass-type opponent's speed, the Sceptile dashed into the Kabutops slicing him with a power Leaf Blade.
The prehistoric pokemon winced and visibly staggered for a moment, instead of increasing speed; the Kabutops kicked up the sand all around itself causing a vicious yet confined Sandstorm. The Kabutops was worn noticeably worn and the Kabuto dotting the trees clattered in discontent.
The worn pokemon glanced around at the displeased chatterings and inhaled sharply, and crossed its blades in a defensive stance. The ancient monster peered around through the whipping sands, looking for its opponent.

Sceptile was buffeted by the Sandstorm and knocked back in my direction. It would be tricky to see from here. The Kabutops wasn’t in great condition but Sceptile wasn’t anymore either. This was one of the harder foes my grass type had faced in a long time. Mainly because it was able to take hits unlike most opponents.
Sceptile’s speed was up but the fossil was building in that attribute as well. We had to end this soon. “Sceptile, lets make use of this storm.” I yelled. There was already sand whipping about, how it was time to add something more.
“Use Leaf Storm.” Sceptile nodded and a surged of razor leaves melded into the brewing Sandstorm toward wherever the Kabutops had been.

As Kabutops began absorbing shots, the Sandstorm noticeably faded.
As the whipping sands subsided the prehistoric creature knelt with blades crossed, it was seemingly acknowledging defeat. It sat silently in the small sandy clearing, the Kabuto were silent too. For a long silent moment the Kabutops sat, soon the gathered Kabuto clattered and began retreating into the bushes, leaving only the Kabutops.
The pokemon's eyes remained shut, though it had known that the other prehistoric pokemon had left.
"That." Rioto sputtered out. "Was. Incredible!" The young man shouted in awe and tossed his arms into the air. The boy tossed his arm out towards Robin with a big thumbs-up.
The Kabutops however, remained still, blades crossed.

I nodded to Rioto and took a deep breath as I stepped forward. Sceptile panted in front of the Kabutops having won this round but taking many blows in the process. Should I catch the prehistoric Pokémon? Did it want that? It struck me that I hadn’t actually caught a Pokémon in a long, long time. And this one would help us find out what was happening here.
I took out a pokeball and pointed it towards the Kabutops. “You fought well, friend. Better than any lone Pokémon in a long time. We could use your help, join us.” I nudged it with the ball and waited to see if the capture would complete.
