Oh, man, I really need to just grab a couple spare decks and play all the card games I can think of sometime this month. I've got quite a bit of downtime this summer.
I don't mind a little Blackjack or Bullshit, but I'm definitely quite partial to certain kinds of card action. Has anyone here heard of the two card games Mafia and Egyptian Ratscrew?

I know of Mafia the improv game but not the card game. Oh wait yeah it's Mafia the improv game, doesn't have that much to do with cards. I just remember there were cards drawn in that one and assumed "oh yeah, cards!" It's got the whole improvised narrating aspect and the "you can't trust anyone have fun" deal. Lots of fun, feels like something that would be very much appropriate to mention in a roleplay forum. Though I'd really like to try out all the other different forms of that game as well, if I can ever figure out how to get them started. There's Bang! for those who prefer the card game aspect, and for those who prefer the physical aspect... well, there is a group out there that has tried an airsoft version of Trouble in Terrorist Town, which looks amazing. One day, I hope. And then we've got the latter, Egyptian Ratscrew. An intense, fast-paced card game where speedy reactions offset the luck factor. And it's easy to learn! What's not to love about that one? |

I've heard of and played both of them. I've played ERS so much (I pretty much beat every one I play with. It gets so boring.) that I've gotten tired of it and it's become as basic as Goldfish and BS to me.
