What magicks do we get?
One level on, one level two and one level three isn't it? For starting at higher levels?

What magicks do we get? One level on, one level two and one level three isn't it? For starting at higher levels? I'm not sure; I'll ask on Stackexchange. EDIT: Stackexchange directed me to the DMG page 143 which says that you start with one item of your level, one item of your level +1, one item of your level -1 and gold equal to the purchasing power of one magic item of your level -1. For starting at level 3 that's one level 2 item, one level 3 item, one level 4 item and 520 gold to spend on whatever you want. I've decided that the party's starting at level 3. EDIT II: I do not own the Adventurer's Vault book, but I might get it sometime soon. As I like being able to read the stats of any magic items given out, and as I am unwilling to engage in piracy, items from there are off the table for now. If I can find a place that has it near where I live I will get it; otherwise, I am unsure of whether I'll be able to get it by the time we play this campaign.

if youre planning on buying it anyways why not just pirate it and then remove it once you buy it

I might as well play Archer in whatever D&D adventure gets chosen.

if youre planning on buying it anyways why not just pirate it and then remove it once you buy it On second thought, that line of reasoning does have its place. I was initially going to dispute it, as I did, but then I realized that with getting the PHB to new people there's really no way around it, and so I might consider that course of action. It is very unlikely that I will, but I'll give it a couple of days of thought.

I might as well play Archer in whatever D&D adventure gets chosen. Cool. I recommend for your race either an elf or a human (though, weirdly enough, looking up the stats in the monster manual, Bugbears have stats more well-suited to an archer ranger than elves do).

idk what any of that means o just do whatever lol ill adapt! Right, I should explain those in-group acronyms. PHB: Player's Handbook DMG: Dungeon Master's Guide MM: Monster Manual MP: Martial Power PHBII: Player's Handbook II I'll start you off simple and just go with stuff from the PHB. What kind of character would you be interested in playing? We already have two defenders and a striker in the party, so maybe you might opt for a controller (druid, wizard) or a leader (cleric, warlord, bard). I have a Dungeon article on party composition on my laptop so I'll take a look at it when I get home to see what other interesting party makeups there are.

What would you say about a Minotaur Druid? weren't you already a minotaur? A Minotaur warden But would a Warforged Druid work?

i can do the timezone, but it means i'll have to start right after school
fine with me, but i can't promise to be there every day
anyways, i have been wishing to do barbarian for a long ass time, so i've done some character building
i got an idea of my goliath barbarian cooking up, and if you want to know details about it, go ahead and ask me

weren't you already a minotaur? A Minotaur warden But would a Warforged Druid work? I'll have to decline both of those options for reasons relating to the party composition and world. We already have a warden and I don't think I can fit any more than just one warforged into this world, and even then the explanation is going to be tentative at best. EDIT: Sorry, we have a barbarian, not a Warden. A Minotaur Warden might work, though I'll request that you use the rules for minotaurs from the Dragon magazine instead of the PHBIII. EDIT II: Wait, based on what we have so far this is going to be a very unbalanced party. Can I recommend a leader or controller role to you?

He's still been your go-to character for every campaign you've played in the past two years. No he hasn't. I've had my Rogue character as well. Plus my warlock and I think I have a monk floating about somewhere on my mythweavers account. Yeah, scrap what I said earlier about having a way to fit Tip into the world; it opens up some serious plotholes in the storyline that I have planned.

I hadn't earlier had a place in this world for minotaurs because I expected no Minotaur PCs and I have no planned Minotaur enemies, but Minotaurs will be easier than warforged.

Alternately, when does your school end for this half of the year?

Tim- I'm sorry to say, but having an entire storyline planned out from the word go is an extraordinarily stupid thing to do as a GM.
