So the baseball season's started. Who here follows baseball? And, if you do, what team do you support? I'm a fan of the Mets, personally.

why new york? why not houston? just curious Grew up watching Yankees game with my dad. The love for NYC he passed onto me wouldn't be complete without baseball. And honestly, nobody outside of Queens likes the Mets. My grandfather's from Brooklyn, my dad's from Manhattan and I'm technically from the part of New Jersey with a good view of the new York skyline, and there's actually a rather interesting story for why my family supports the Mets. So originally there were three teams in New York - the New York Yankees, the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Giants. In '57 and '58 the Dodgers and Giants moved to LA and San Francisco respectively, leaving just the Yankees in New York. My grandfather, from Brooklyn, was originally a Dodgers fan until they left, but he couldn't support the Yankees after hating them for so long (not hating, but intense team rivalry-ing them for so long). In 1962 the Mets came along, with their advertising pitch being that they were the team for any former Dodgers or Giants fans that felt disenfranchised after their team left, having the colours of both teams.
