Deserts of Kataar Daffy

[vammy]

"What is your name? Mine is Valentine nice to meet you!"

I'd shoot a glance at Valentine, I wasn't really into small talk but I gave it a shot, "Uh, Mikolov Kuznetsov, but just call me Miko."

"Ah what a great name! May I ask where do you plan to go?"

"I'll try my luck with Kaizen, I understand the risk but the pay off would be wonderful."



"Hmm I thought so, now this may seem weird, but I cannot see as well as I used to can you describe yourself to me?"

He'd hesitate for a while before obliging, "I have messy dirty blonde hair, I stand about 6'6 with a Mesomorph body build, acne on my cheeks and nose. Amber eyes, a messy beard. And olive tan skin, but for my clothing, basic damaged chain mail that goes down my body with a red coat about it. And a small black leather rucksack by my side. "

"Yes, yes one last question I promise have you snuck anything with you to Kataar?" (Small weapons, some money, jewelry etc.)

"Not much money, a very damaged Baselard dagger. That's about it..."

"Ah! Nice to meet you traveler if there's anything else you wish to tell me just say!"

"No. Nothing else."

In a weeks time you reach Kataar, the captain hurries everyone out hoping not to seen making trip to the golden city of Kaizen. As he sails away he overhear a comment about how few come here these days.
Now you stand here outside of the walls in a large city which is best described as a slum, many small houses packed closely together and a long line of men fishing just off of the coast; deeper into the city there is a commonplace where rumors are spread, goods are sold and stories are made.

He'd observer the slums, almost reminding him of what a prison would look like, not to mention the smell made him want to vomit. He rushed off to the common place, mostly hoping to hear news of guard routes and what shops have. He made sure his dagger was hidden up his sleeve and his rucksack was right under his arm, making it nearly impossible for it to be taken from him without retaliation. As he did he'd walk over to one of the vendors.

You make it to the vendors safely, first greeted by a band blowing trumpets and banging drums and next by a group of merchants operating out of a caravan, they smile at you and gesture for you come over.

"Greetings knight, what brings you outside of the walls?"

[Daffybebe]

I'd linger a bit at the question before deciding on one thing, "Information. I want all the information you can give me about this place." He'd tap his fingers by his side quite impatiently.

[vammy]

"This is Kaizen the golden city of Kataar, it is where Kataar himself battled dragons in order to ascend to godhood, but I assume you already knew that much. Unless your new here. If your wondering no one in my crew has seen any imperial soldiers, we been trying to avoid those slavers and murderers the best we can. If your working with the nobles inside the walls please tell them to hurry up and stop these invaders before they kill us all."

The other people in the caravan nod as he says this

"Hope that helps you, but unless you plan on buying something there isn't much we can do."

[Daffybebe]

"Hmm, well I'd like to see your wears, show me what you got."

[vammy]

"Aha we have a vast variety of blades, jams and rings. The jam is strawberry and the blades are iron."

[Daffybebe]

"What about the price, I wanna know the cost." He'd scan down the wares.

[vammy]

We accept all forms of metal coinage, the jams are 5 copper coins each and the blades are much more expensive, 50 for a dagger and 300 for a broadsword. We been selling out lately so be quick.

[Daffybebe]

He'd gruff at the price, "Like I could afford that, but on another note do you know of a way to get into the walls? To where the nobles are?"

[vammy]

"Clearly your not a knight then or you would already be inside. If you wish to get inside the walls my friends and I could point you in the direction of a few sneaky gentlemen, but of course there will be a fee."

[Daffybebe]

"Name your price and I'll be gone faster."

[vammy]

"10 copper coins and someone in my caravan will show you a secret passage inside the walls."

You suddenly notice a more shady then usual individual in the background

[Daffybebe]

He toke a quick glance before getting back to business.He'd slide his blade down his sleeve just in sight, "Five and the floor won't get a new paint job."

[vammy]

"A threat I see, friend allow me to tell you something your standing in front of six nomads who have travelled from Thossa to Bolden on carriage. You lay a hand on our horses or our caravan it will be the last thing you ever dare to do. 10 coins or enjoy your time with the riff-raff."

[Daffybebe]

"Fine have your money," He'd drop the coins on the table with a growl.

[vammy]

"Ah I see your an intelligent man. Come follow me and be quick can't have others finding out about the tunnels."

The merchant and shady guy walk around the walls until they stop at a large stone fort, quickly a square is carved out of the fort just large enough to fit one person at a time.

"After you I insist."

[Daffybebe]

He'd shoot a quick glare before complying and getting inside and walking through the tunnel.

Once your inside you find yourself in a old looking room stocked with a many beautiful works of art, a single window hangs over a picture of two angels kissing, the glass panes have clearly been lost to time but you can make out many colors.

The merchants point a stairway left of you.

"Alright upstairs and you'll be in Langley's Castle from there you'll be inside the walls, try not to get killed."

[Daffybebe]

He'd grunt as he mademoiselle his fist step before turning around and asking a final question, "Any tips if I was to say, rob them?"

[vammy]

" Take the rift to Charmsa and pray they don't come for you, or you could just not rob people." The merchant and his friend slink back into the tunnels

[Daffybebe]

He'd take th first advice. He was first confused by what them meant by rift, so he climbed up the stairs to te surface world and scanned around him trying to find a sign or something to point him in the right direction.

Welcome to the inner walls of Bolden, the golden city, jewel of the Nai Kingdom and the fortress of the gods. The sun shines over a large cathedral surrounded by statues of brave knights. The hallway your in leads to the Manola District home to many family estates, you see no signs.

Everything seems to glow here

[Daffybebe]

He was really surprised by how the city glowed, but he put the admiration for the scenery away and decided to get to work, he'd go to a guy walking down the street, tap his shoulder and ask for directions to the rifts.

He tells you that the rift is where it always been, in front of Percy's Cathedral.
