What's your favourite architectural and interior design motif? That is, if you were given a plot of land about, say, 400km2 and as much government funding as is necessary to build a city for half a million or so, plus residential, commercial, industrial and public services, what artistic style would you go for? I, personally, would likely aim for either heavily neogothic-inspired skyscrapers or some synthesis of art deco and art nouveau, but, notably, I would have completely mixed zoning throughout, large swathes of the city as pedestrian-only, a strong train system and the widest roads being simple two-lane roads.
I'm assuming that the interior design would follow the same style as the exterior design.

DEUS VULT There are lots of denominations and lots of architectural styles used over the centuries - for instance, a gothic Catholic cathedral in Vienna might look very different to a romanesque Church of England cathedral in rural England. |

I would make a city however. That part's not important.
But I would inhabit it myself, minus those who I require to keep it running to my accommodations.
