(The original thread, for those interested.) NAME: Xiang Tu HT (Height): 192.024cm WT (Weight): 57.76kg HAIR (Color): Dark Chocolate EYES (Color): Green SEX: Male AGE: 21 PHOTOGRAPH (Description): Xiang is a Chinese male that was actually born in Norway, from a Norwegian father and Chinese mother. He has the typical epicanthic fold, with rosy white skin. He has an oval-shaped head with a small nose and a pressed-back hairline. Typically, Xiang's dark chocolate hair is parted to the right with square sideburns and a sophisticated short boxed beard. He has a scar along the left corner of his upper lip, and stitches curving around his right eye. Where you’re headed: Egonsburg Pocket contents: Xiang has a pocket knife, an authentic leather billfold, and Rubik's cube. (You lucked out, fucker. It was heads. No pirates.) You board the transport blimp, which seems to be manned by plenty of armed guards. There is no system of regulation or investigation in these skies, just men with guns that may or may not know how to use them. When the rest of the passengers board, the guard closest to the entry door shuts and locks it. The intercom turns on, and a man begins speaking. "Welcome to the Skies, travelers. My name is Alexander, and I'll be your captain for the next day or so as we go on a flight to Egonsburg. Take a seat, relax, and enjoy the ride." The intercom cuts back out as you take your seat, and you can feel as the blimp begins to lift up off the platform. Higher and farther you go, as the platform and people on it grow smaller and smaller, until the only thing you can see is the city you left in the distance, and the brooding miasma below. This miasma is dark, and disturbing, but you can't put your finger on why that is, or even where it comes from, and the others aboard the blimp don't seem to be paying it any mind, so you quickly dismiss it from your mind. The trip is slow, and uneventful. You entertain yourself in anyway you can, whether by sleeping, reading, or watching the skies, but there isn't much to the skies today, so you don't stick to that for long. You do notice a few merchant ships being harassed by pirates, but aside from that, the sky between you Egonsburg are calm and peaceful. Eventually, you spot the city in the distance. It's no industry capital, but it has a certain quaint charm about it, with lots of Renaissance looking buildings and beautiful architecture looking as if it was ripped straight out of Vienna itself. The blimp docks down on a platform, and a guard open the door, allowing you, along with the rest of the passengers, to disembark.

(I'll be fair, the spacing is kind of cancerous but I guess I get what I get when I don't run into pirates.)
I step off the landing platform looking at the Austrian architecture. I begin to walk towards the nearest kiosk to look for a pamphlet or guide that would help me around the town. Specifically towards a money conversion center or the Henricks Center, or even a hotel in which I could rent a room.

(I was too lazy to actually go through and fix spacing initially.) (I'll see about making it less shit later.)
You notice an information kiosk not too far from where you step off the ship. There's a moderate line in front of it, but it seems to be moving along quickly.

I step into the line and wait patiently. I look around for a hanging clock trying to see what time of the day it is. After a brief search, I begin to play with my Rubik's cube as I wait in line.

There's a clock hanging above the kiosk. It is exactly 6:30, at least according to that particular clock. The line moves quickly, quicker so as you sufficiently distract yourself with your cube, until eventually you're next in line. The man in front of you finishes whatever business he had and steps away, allowing you your turn at the kiosk.

I ask the following questions in order;
"Where is the Henricks Center?" "What's the currency here?" "Are there any jobs available?" "Where is a hotel?"

A young, bright-eyed boy with groomed, blond hair perks up to answer your questions. He seems more then a little eager to do his job.
The boy pulls a map from somewhere inside the kiosk, and points you to a district near the center of the city called "The Henricks District," then points you to a building near the center of that. "That's the Henricks center. Follow the main path here," the boy says, pointing to a long road reaching to your destination "and you'll be there in no time!" "The official currency of Austria is the Euro. Here in Egonsburg, that's no different!" "Plenty! You'll find work as a mercenary if you're daring enough, a scientist if you're smart enough, an artist if you're creative enough, or just about anything else. Whatever floats your boat, you'll find here in Egonsburg." "There's a hotel not too far from the Henricks center! I hear it's a pretty swell place."

I thank the boy and walk towards the hotel. If there's a fire escape, I walk up to the top and see if the door on the roof is unlocked. If it is, open the door and find an open room and shower and such.

You walk down the man street until you eventually come across the Henricks district. The area is bustling with activity, as people go in and out of various shops and buildings around you. A large campus lays in the very center of the district, with what appears to be a very large lab just next to it. You wouldn't be wrong in assuming that that's the Henricks Center. You then come to the hotel the boy pointed out, and you do indeed find a fire escape around the side. However, attempting to climb it without reason in a busy district when it's still fairly light out proves to not be the best idea. A police officer sees you make your ascent, and calls out to you.
"Hey, buddy! What're you doing up there?" He asks

"I'm new to the town, I couldn't find where I was looking for on foot or on the map, so I decided to come up here for a better view," Xiang says calmly; trying not to agitate the cop or make him suspicious.

"Well, come on down from there and I can show you where to go." Comes his reply

I walk down the fire escape, and when I reach the bottom I shove my hands into my pockets and thumb the pocket knife. When/if the officer inquires about where I'm looking for, I ask him to pull out a map.

The officer does indeed ask you where you're doing, but the second part of your plan doesn't exactly go as you'd hoped.
"I don't have a map on me." He confesses. "Haven't needed one in quite awhile. However, you tell me the name of the place, and I guarantee I can take you to it."

"I can't recall what the name of the place is. I know it's near the Henricks Center, but I looked all over there and I couldn't find it," Xiang says, hoping that the officer will leave for some kiosk or whatnot.

A noticeable look of suspicion grows over the face of the officer
"Can you describe the place you're looking for? Is it a hotel, or a restaurant? And sir, would you mind taking your hands out of your pockets? It's merely a precautionary measure, you understand."

"No problem officer," I say as I withdraw my hands from my pocket. I begin to describe a generic restaurant to the officer in hopes it'll be something similar. But after this, I occasionally glance at the officer's chest and his waist; looking for pepper spray or a baton while I also think of an alibi if he questions what I'm doing.

You notice two holsters on his right hip. One for a pistol, and another one which is likely for a taser, or something similar.
"You thinking of Karl's?" The officer asks

"Is that the one with the excellent wiener schnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn?" I say trying to buy more time to think out my next moves. I assess the officer's body type and what he could probably do.

"Their food is pretty top notch, but unfortunately they're closed for today. Shame too, I would have loved to go get my dinner there today after my shift ended."
The officer is a stoutly gentleman, probably about six feet tall and in his early thirties. You might be able to take him, but you don't have a gun, and it's unlikely that you could over-power him.

"Shame, very well then. Have a nice day," I say as I begin to walk towards the sidewalk.

"Have a good day then."
Not entirely content to go about his own business, the officer stands guard at the entrance to the alley. Attempting to return and go back up the fire escape would be ill advised

I walk around for awhile finding ways to entertain me until it's later at night. When it's later, I return to the alley to see if the officer is still around the area.

The guard seems to have left. You're free to give it another go, if you think it wise.

The area is still busy, but the darkness should better hide your second attempt. Beyond that, your odds will not be given to you by the voice in the sky.
