It's lucky that your target is so preoccupied, or else you'd no doubt have been spotted sneaking in. You come across a closet and duck inside. Shutting the closet door could put you in danger of being noticed, but it could also give you a good opportunity to kill the target if he checks for you. In his state, he might just walk past you if you leave the door open, and if he doesnt, that could leave another opportunity to kill him.

(I knew in writing that last post it sounded weird, but it was the best I could think of at the moment. My apologies.)
(Anyway, Carlos ducks into cover. The best cover you could find is an open closet near entrance to the apartment. [It's a weird layout])
(Ray is still piss drunk and drinking water, and has yet to notice you sneaking around.)
(The closet door was open, allowing you to duck inside without any noise. [Something I didn't explain and should have.])
(At the present, you have two options; closing the closet door or leaving it open.)
(Closing it would likely make noise, and attract Ray.)
(Leaving it open will allow you to remain undetected.)
(The closet is near the door, so he has to walk past you to go lock his door.)
(You can A: Wait it out and spring on him when he goes to lock the door, or B: alert him but potentially take him out faster,)
