"If we don't end war, war will end us."
You're fighting for the same cause that the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation is fighting for. Why did it come to this? We were a threat from the spread of communism on an unimaginable scale- so much so that it endangered our way of life as we know it- that, as the clock ticked forward, war was simply inevitable. Starting with Vietnam, these communists will stop at nothing to make sure everyone is under their regime. "Socialism under one country", they said. That's obviously not the case. We feel like it could have been so much worse- but, God, why did this have to happen? You know that, as you're travelling to your briefing, your comrades at your side, or soon to be at your side, will soon be the people you fight alongside with. And not all of them will be coming with you on the ride home- if you are even on that ride. That's best not to think about- you're fighting for a cause you know is right, and you're damn well going to fight until you can't anymore. You're fighting for freedom- for liberty, to end corruption and to keep the people you love safe.
You're on your way to your briefing. How you feel about this is your own thoughts. You're being transported by vehicle to your destination, with many other people sat around you. They were a mixed bag- some were soldiers, some were pilots, and some would be piloting a tank. Their facial expressions vary drastically- some faces are stern and confident, while others are absolutely terrified and so pale that their face is turning white. So, you've probably got at least a few hours until you get where you need to be. What now?
(You don't need to use this introduction if you don't want to start this way- it's just to help people. However, you still probably need to go to the briefing, unless you want to start off already in the battle.)
