"I wouldn't count on it." Liliana replied with a shrug. "Stabilizing it nearly killed you, and from what Solas has said, it seems like your mark needs the same amount of arcane power as was used to open the Breach. Needless to say, caution would be advised, lest you actually be blamed for a second explosion."

I shrug a bit but secretly note the weight of the situation.. if I were to fail this whole thing, if the blast doesn't kill me then the angry guards or demons would finish me off. Lovely. "Yeah, but that won't happen. No sir-ee."

"We have quite some time and preparation to make before that." Liliana responds simply with another small sip of wine. "In the meantime, I'd become close friends with the apostate, Solas. He knows more about your mark than he lets on; Of this, I am certain."

"Alright.. sounds good. I figure I'll start heading over," I pause, " unless there's anything else you'd like to tell me. " If not, I'll bid farewell and head to Solas.

"Anything of high importance received will be forwarded to you at once, Herald." she replies with a shake of her head, bidding you a warm farewell as you left. Venturing over to where you last saw him, you walk over near the alchemist's quarters and, sure enough, spot the Elf speaking with a man, face letting you recognize him as someone standing outside your house earlier that day.

"But of course." I say with a bow, turning to the doorway. I look from him to the man, waiting for them to notice me while listening in to their conversation.

Catching only the end of their conversation, you hear something about Lyrium mentioned before Solas handed the man several small vials, then watching him retreat inside. Leaning himself against the doorframe, Solas glances over at you curiously before then nodding with a wave.

"I was directed here by Liliana," I say somewhat awkwardly, putting up my hand, "she said that you knew more about this than you're letting on.. I guess it'd be useful for me to know about that, ya know? Considering it's kinda.." I look back down to my hand then him, "uh, attached to me."

Solas raises an eyebrow curiously at you, a slight smirk crossing his face. "The Mistress of Shadows said that? I'm almost flattered." he commented with a short laugh.
"She may not be entirely wrong, though. Ican think of a number of Elven artifacts that touch the Fade, or even the Veil in-between our worlds, but none that could physically rip a hole in it. Thus, I fear my people will be put to blame when this is all discovered; I hope the truth ends up being much kinder than that."

"Almost?" I jest, "I'd take all the good feeling you can.. at least, that's what I try to do." I say with a smile myself, walking forward a bit and finding a place to rest against. "Surely before all those nobles they'll know that elves have no reason to unleash demons upon the world?" I ask, finding it somewhat strange about his worries about the subject. People in power should be level headed and reasonable, right?

Shrugging as you leaned yourself against the shop next to him, he replies "The Trevinter Imperium was and is built on the blood and bones of my kind, and the Andrastian Chantry has shown itself to be little better throughout history. But, you are right; I imagine people will be more focused on who caused the Breach rather than whatever tool they used to do so."
Looking over at you then, or more accurately, looking down at your palm, a sense of concern crosses the bald Elf's features as he looked back up to you. "Does it still pain you, your mark?"

"Certainly. Surely the makers of the technology would have never intended for it to be used in this way.. against all these people." I shrug a bit, looking down to it myself, "Not too much. Sometimes I forget its there until the occasional twinge from it."

"Not an overall bad sign, I suppose." he replies with a nod of approval. "I'm quite envious of your physical journey in the Fade. I've spent countless time there in slumber and have witnessed heroes and legends of all scope; I must confess that I'm curious what kind you'll turn out to be."

"Do you have any speculations of your own on what the future holds for me?" I ask with a raised eyebrow, looking to him. These mystics, if you would call them that, kinda give me the spooks. Something about looking into something that no one else could is.. I don't know, unsettling. Then again, haven't I become one of them?

"I'm afraid spirits only reflect the pasts, not the future... Of my own speculation however, I will say this; Don't expect to come out of this as a hero forever remembered. Mankind has an odd way of tossing out those who saved them."
After a shrug, you see him pull out a small wineskin and take a gulp of what appeared to be simple spring water. "Take the Battle of Ostagar at the beginning of the Fifth Blight, for example. I watched the Hero of Ferelden and the Grey Wardens light the signal flare for reinforcements, and a cowardly commander fleeing the battlefield with his army. The next instant, I saw a commander looking upon the futility of a lost battle, and refusing to throw away more lives. History painted them both as monsters at one point; But seeing the scenes truly described by spirits, can you say either was wrong for their actions? Ultimately, both saved lives, but only one is still referred to as the Hero."

"I reckon I'll be living somewhere in luxury by the time this whole thing is over, perhaps on a nice beach sipping fine rum, and fuck what history has to say; I won't be alive to care." "I'm not sure if I'll have to worry about commanding the lives of soldiers," I muse , "if so, I'll have expert opinions surrounding me.. all in all, I'll try and do my best." With a huff, I find a seat and heavily plop into it.

Chuckling, Solas nods heartily to your first comment. "A very fine goal to aspire to." Pausing as you seated yourself on a nearby stool, you two are interrupted briefly by the alchemist stepping outside, a half dozen vials of blue liquid in his hands. "Your Lyrium distillates, Master Solas." he says, spotting you and offering a much deeper bow. "Greetings to you, Herald. Good to see your legs didn't go soft on ya while you slept."
Watching him retreat back inside, Solas pockets the potions before shrugging at you. "Ah yes, Commander Cullen and the Antavian Ambassador. The latter I know little of, but Cullen is a good man. Seems to always be at the wrong place at the wrong time, which is a pity."

I look over to the alchemist, granting him a nod. "Never thought sleep could leave someone without there legs." I mutter. " Seems to be a plague that overtakes some. " I add, "Misfortune." To clarify.

Solas chuckles at your comment with a shrug. "I'll admit after some of my lengthier slumbers, my legs can get a bit unstable for the first day. But I'd say walking after three days is on the lower end of your achievements, eh?"

But I'd say walking after three days is on the lower end of your achievements, eh?" "What're you, a vampire?" I jest with a grin, "staying up for days on end only to exchange hibernation in the form of a lengthy.. ah.. slumber." I say, at first not remembering what he had said first. Upon the observation I meddle on the thought, swishing it around like one would do to wine at a tasting. "It's certainly not a way I would want to go," I speculate, "from bedsores and sleep paralysis. No, not a way I'd like to go." The way I would want to is through alcohol poisoning, but I'll hold my tongue on that thought for now.

Solas chuckles at your remark before shaking his head slowly. "Ah, no- The Fade unfortunately shapes itself around the Dreamer, meaning if you spend your whole life in the same bed, you won't see much. As such, I try to sleep and explore it as much as possible when out on the road. Old ruins, for example, often reveal the most fascinating tales in the Fade."

I shake my head, the concept being lost on me, "It seems like if you're traveling around to all these places you would want to be looking around.. you know, getting a drink with the local ladies instead of.. ah.. sleeping." Perhaps we are more different than I had anticipated.. then again, considering my past, it does make sense.

"I would answer your question with one of my own." the Mage began in response. "Why look at ruins when I can observe their creators, and conversate with souls whom have lived far longer than that of regular beings? I assure you, Friend; Those in the Fade are just as alive as you or I... If not moreso."

Still skeptical, I say a rather apathetic response, "I don't know.. I'm not sure if some old fella who built some stones on top of stones a few thousand years ago would have anything relevant to say about nowadays."

"Oh?" Solas inquires, raising an eyebrow at your response. "Maybe not quite as literally as them, but considering recent events, I think the world needs someone to piece it back together, and it's a puzzle in which the pieces can fit together in any infinite number of ways... I believe your future actions may, this time literally, reshape the world; Those who first shaped it no doubt have faced familiar challenges."
