The Ivory Cliffs are an island Chain off the coast of Germany. In 1920, the German Government ordered a medium security prison be built there. It took 9 years to build it, just at the outbreak of World War II. As soon as the war started, a division of the German Budeswher were sent to staff the island. Why does this matter?
The year currently is 1942. Whether you're a Polish Resistance fighter or an American GI, it doesn't matter, because all prison inmates yearn for one thing, the smell of freedom.
Please choose a skill set. (Or not)
GI: The GI is simply the average infantryman. You are skilled in small arms usage, and as such are at their best with a gun in their hands.
Resistance Fighter: You lived in some far flung European country when the Nazis rolled in and kicked down the door. Naturally, you decided that joining a resistance group was an awesome idea. Unfortunately, you were caught and sentenced to the Island chain. Resistance Fighters are at their best when working in the dark and with one handed weapons. Resistance Fighters can also set up a rendezvous to get you home safely.
Mechanic: Mechanics are skilled at repairing, destroying, or creating machines, and working with electricity. Mechanics are essential for a vehicle borne escape.
Pilot: You really liked planes. You like, really really like planes. Naturally, when a world war starts, joining the air force was naturally a good idea when fighting for your country. Some how, some way, you were shot down and sent to this blasted island. You understand the internal workings of a plane and understand how airborne vehicles work.
Seaman: Avoiding seamen jokes here, you were in the Navy at some point in time, and we're picked up by the Germans. You, like the Pilot, understand how naval craft work and as such, are vital for a naval escape.
Medic: You were a doctor back home, but the army or whatever branch you served in decided you need to be killed by thousands of people you don't know, but luckily these people sent you to a lovely island in the Atlantic ocean. You can patch up wounds without infecting people with gangrene, and can be a valuable asset to any escape.
Jobs
Jobs are posted on the Jobs board in the cafeteria. Jobs can be an easy way to earn money. You are either assigned a job, or may take up a job if said job has a vacancy. Meet the job quota, and you keep your job. Don't, and you'll find yourself out of one. Use your job as a way to earn money or to use it in your escape. Jobs must be done before the evening roll call, and after the morning roll call.
Laundryman: Laundryman is sent into the basement to wash the outfits of the guards and the prisoners. The quota is 20 outfits that need to be washed. The pay is 20 banknotes.
Mailman: Your job as the mailman is to censor letters from the guards and prisoners. You need to have 2 bags of letters censored, each bag can hold 20 letters. Pay is 40 banknotes.
Cook: The job of the cook is to cook food for the guards and prisoners. Depending what time of day you're serving, the quota and pay will be posted on the job board.
Janitor: The janitor is to occasionally clean up the prison. Area to be cleaned will be posted, as well as the quota and pay on the job board.
Rules
Obviously, this is the second world war. Talk and act like it. This roleplay will follow a simple crafting mechanic. For example, you can take a rusty razor blade and combine it with duct tape to make a Rusty Shiv. Don't worry, if you view any sort of object(s) I can tell you if you can make something worth it or not. Certain escapes require certain skill sets, for example a airborne escape would require at least a mechanic and a pilot. Get creative with escape plans. There is no set schedule, except for the three roll calls: the morning call, which is at 6:30 AM, the afternoon call, which is st 12:30 AM, and the evening call, which is at 8:30 PM. There are random cell searches, so hide your plans carefully. This thread will be edited as time goes on for revision and new ideas, which means ask any questions. There are two islands, the main prison island, and the nearby airbase, which is used as a supply depot for both the island and the German Armed Forces. Occasionally, the guards will deliver letters and care packages sent by family, the Allies, and the Red Cross. Family items will likely be of most priority, as they consist of letters and such. Allied drops are of least priority, as Allied drops may contain escape devices, such as a deck of playing cards disguised as a puzzle as a map for enemy territory. Red Cross drops are in between, as they will mostly consist of medical items. Finality, there are a few main areas of the prison. The courtyard, which sits next to a cliff, the game room, the cafeteria, the cell blocks, guard and Warden quarters, and finally a smoking room, fashioned similarly to a parlor.
