I'm watching 24 right now, and in season 1, there's a scene where Jack looks at his watch and it reads 7:12PM. His wristwatch is a rollex, and so he must have been wearing that rollex through multiple shootings, as he was hiking around uninhabited areas and during multiple chase scenes. Rollex watches often go for hundreds of thousands of dollars, and so that means that that rollex is about as expensive as Jack's house and way more expensive than his piece of shit automobile. He should keep his rollex in a safe place for when he's putting his life at risk so that his family can inherit half a million more dollars than if the watch got damaged.
I'd also like to point out that Jamie betrayed the CTU for a mere fraction of what a Rollex is worth, so if Jack had, instead of buying a watch with a fancy label, spent the money on giving his employees a decent wage maybe his wife wouldn't have been kidnapped a few hours earlier.
