The Event
In 2047, the mercenary group, the Red Militant, was employed by the United States government to keep peace in Kuwait during the Arab Crisis of 20461. During this, the Red Militant pillaged and raped the Kuwaiti towns and cities. When the United States helped create a provisional government for Kuwait after the Iraqis invaded for a second time over, the Red Militant withdrew from Kuwait and returned to contracts elsewhere around the world. But in 2048, the Red Militant was stationed in China to support the Chinese Communist government during the Chinese Revolutionary War. They were defeated due to funding from multiple anti-Communist countries as well as some donations by the United States military. During this period, the Head Commander of the Red Militant, Patrick Cailloux, was killed during the Zenguang Assault of Beijing. This essentially dissolved the Red Militant and the new Chinese government hacked into the servers of the Red Militant in Sydney. The documents found and publicized by hacktivists to WikiLeak revealed hundreds of scandals involving dozens of world leaders, as well as private phone calls between the Red Militant and military officials from around the world asking to attack one country or another. This led to rising tensions all around.
But who gives a shit about that right? This is a story about Comicland. But to paraphrase the rest of the nonsensical bullshit I was going to write, a bunch of shit hits the fan and war plunges the world into anarchy with scrambling governments and power struggles across the board.
