In 2043, the World Health Organization created ViRTA. It's a virtual reality generator that produces millions of scenarios and can also be manipulated by a third party or inside the scenario via a device given to a user. The ViRTA is the most immersive virtual reality product at the time, outperforming any gaming system that used VR. Eventually, governments around the world began studying ViRTA and made newer versions that were better and faster than the last. When the UDSC Awakening mission from Earth to Mars, the United States' "Cordova" accompanied astronauts on the space shuttle. Simulations of terrain and physical features on Mars were presented to the astronauts as they trained on their way to Mars, even using elaborate science fiction scenarios thought up of by NASA and other world-renowned scientists.
In 2080, after the UDSC (United Domains Space Coalition) successful colonized the moon around Earth and started setting up hydroponic labs on Mars as well as residential domes on Mars, the Fortuna Civilian Space Hub (FCSP) began shuttling pedestrians from Earth to FCSP to train as astronauts, galactic marines, or pilots. Or they were just wealthy enough to purchase the $790 (USD) ticket from Washington D.C. to the FSCP. Nonetheless, the American and French scientists worked together on Fortuna to produce the "Gold Concordia" system. You are a resident of Fortuna and have premium access to Gold Concordia. On your personal computer located in your shelter, you can create your scenarios and then upload them to the Index and replay them in the Gold Concordia.
