My suggestion is to not reinstate the post count currency system.
It is extremely unfair to pretty much anyone who doesn't have 10k+ posts. It heavily leans in the favor of those people who do.
You have the people with 10k, 15k, or even 20k posts and then you have the people with 1-5k, or something like that.
It was a heavily flawed system and several people disliked it because of this.

My main problem with post count systems here (and in turn, post count editing) is that you have no idea how many posts you've actually made here.

Well we could make a bank, give everyone a fixed starting amount, and they can spend or earn as they wish/can. It would be up to people to post on the bank what their transactions are, how much, and to or from whom. And the bank manager to ensure that it updates regularly and probably make posts every now and then so everyone knows it's current.
That said, Cyberbank Inc. would be happy to take up this job...
