I'm using US political parties because I know more about them and I'm sure that most of you know more about them than any other country's political parties. I'd go into more detail, but it's half past midnight and I'm ridiculously fucking tired. So, as for now, it's democrat vs republican.
Also, a quick fact - During the 2000 election the majority of voters were smart enough not to vote for Bush, but he still got into office because of gerrymandering the electoral college.

Bush's opponent won the popular vote, but Bush won the electoral college vote.
Just goes to show how broken the american election system is. What worked in the 18th century doesn't work in the 21st.

politicians are boring. They're all the same.
Step A: Get enough people to vote you into the Senate or House of Reps. Step B: Accept bribes from big business to vote on whatever they want. Step C: Get rich off the bribe money and "donations", especially "campaign donations", which is really just big business bribing you with lots of money again so you can be re-elected and keep doing what they say. Step D: Nobody knows whether you're a Republican or a Democrat, because they both follow the same set of instructions(this) and basically approve or disapprove of the same laws except a very small number that big business lets them fight over because they want the country to stay divided or have drama within its political ranks(I don't know which one it is, or if it's both).

That's a guy who will change america. By somehow renaming it to the Corporate Government of Donald Trump, the white house will become the Trump House(that sounds so wrong), Washington DC will become Trump Headquarters, and Donald Trump the country will start a huge conscription service and then wage war against the middle east, probably getting removed from NATO, the UN, that one other pact with Canada and Mexico, any every other international organization it happens to be in, on top of not receiving any imports from any other country except China and maybe some others in southern Asia that import lots of stuff with their semi-slave workers.

Donald Trump's an idiot and is likely to screw over the world's economy for his own profit moreso than Clinton. Agreed. This coming election season there are 21 candidates for president. 16 of them are Republicans. And only one person out of all 21 people is not accepting bribe money from superpacs. But by my weird, crazy, twisted logic, if Donald Trump wins the primaries I'd be willing to bet a good portion of people who normally vote Republican will switch their vote to Democrat just so Trump doesn't win. And so far, I think the winner of the Democrat primary will either be Hillary or Bernie.

I'm following this election somewhat but not very closely as I'll be unable to vote until the 2020 election, but I sincerely doubt that Donald Trump is going to win the election.

Actually, the last results show Donald Trump as 2nd most popular for the Republicans, and I can't remember who was in first, but seeing Trump in second place really shocked me. It could change though, politics is a weird and difficult thing.

It could change though, politics is a weird and difficult thing. Al Franken said it best in the preface to Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot - "In politics, a month is like a lifetime". (I'm heavily paraphrasing because I forget the exact quote, but I'll look it up and edit this post later when I find it, but you get the gist of it).

I don't really know. I'm not much of a fan of either. What I believe America needs is not a favorite or dominant party, but a third party. With two we balance each other out, we can almost never reach a mutual decision without months of debating. A third party may change that, make the government even better. And it doesn't really matter what this party is. I mean, having a communist party is good enough.

I could care less about parties, I pay attention to the individual. However, I will say that Libertarians tend to make the most sense to me.

Independents *cough cough* And how many times have you heard about the independent party in the news? Or in presidential elections for that matter. I, for one, never knew an independent party even existed until one ran for the governor of Arizona.
