I can't decide whether to reserve an upgrade or not to.
Because I have windows 7, and according to people windows 7 and windows 10 are pretty much identical in most areas. Windows 10 has better search functions and Cortana, Windows 7 has much better formatting.
The thing I'm confused about is if I reserve it, does it automatically install windows 10 and make me go through the entire annoying process of installing every single thing I have and making me start over on everything, or can I reserve it and save upgrading to windows 10 ten years from now?

If you reserve it, it downloads everything for Windows 10 in the background. You can then upgrade to Windows 10 whenever you want.
