Because it seems like a really broad term.

"Being a prick on the internet because you can. Typically unleashing one or more cynical or sarcastic remarks on an innocent by-stander, because it's the internet and, hey, you can." - Urban Dictionary
"...make a deliberately offensive or provocative online posting with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them." - When looking up "trolling".
"...a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion." - Wikipedia
There, three separate definitions on the word "trolling" from three different "reliable" resources.

Trolling also has a definition involving a boat in some way, I believe. Can't exactly think of the meaning, but I think it's when one boat drags another via a rope.

Trolling is a verb. A troll is a noun. Grammar! Technically Purring was right, because, if I assume correctly, she was referring to the act of being a troll, which could be justified as trolling. There is also the fact that she was making a play on words and if you critique her so harshly you're being purposefully rude, which also makes you a hypocrite because you were telling Perogi to not be rude.

I feel like you're really trying to make me the bad guy in this situation. I simply stated that trolling is a verb, and a troll is a noun. If she was referring to the act of being a troll, she lacked to provide any context clues about that implication. And if you call that harsh you need to a.) either grow up a bit more, or b.) get thicker skin. This is the internet and that is not even a harsh post. If you call someone a faggot, that's pretty rude.

" as a sarcastic and pointed comment, but you can't really blame me because your past attitudes towards this forum and certain people support the assumption.
