Right now I'm facing an odd identity crisis. I simply don't know what do to with myself. I can't tell whether to move on to a new site where roleplays actually thrive, or to go back to Roblox and keep on doing what I have been. Then there's also the option to hop on the bandwagon and keep moving with the so-called "peers" I've made in the one year I've been roleplaying. The thing about this is that this community never seems to learn. Soardlo made several attempts to make his utopia outside of Roblox, where he would escape the "oppressive mods" and all the other stupid crap. People joined his forums, and it was all nice up until week three or four when people just quit and never came back. They never succeeded. Ever. Here we are again, like a broken record, but with proboards rather than sounds or speech. It all looks too good on paper, far too good, and we buy it, we think it might change, that it may be different, but what they don't seem to realize is that the problem lays in the people, not the site, not the admins. The people prioritize OOC over roleplay any time, with few exceptions. This is clear with the way Tim organized the site and went about doing things, either Tim is like all the others, or Tim actually see this and want appeal to the others, I don't know, but it shows. Tim put OOC on the top of the site, and the first board he made, aside from rules, was Life Talk. This sends people into a mode to look at the OOC boards first, and therefore prioritize them over roleplaying. You would have to scroll down in order to see the actual roleplays, which doesn't seem like much, but makes quite an impact on how people go about posting. Another thing that's obvious is how much people actually post in OOC boards. Random talk alone has almost as much posts as all roleplay boards combined, and if not for kingdoms, it'd have almost twice as much. I and others find it safe to assume a lot of the people here haven't even roleplayed at all, yet, and don't plan on doing it anytime soon. With the selection of people who actually migrated to this site, there is literally no reason to post a roleplay here over roblox. In Roblox, there's a larger variety of interests, more possible joiners, and less people who only post here because of OOC. There's just no merit to it, and after all, I'm only here for the roleplaying, and that simply won't work here. I'll probably find myself lurking here, but don't expect any major posting, and with that, my little middle finger to everyone here is concluded, pardon my french.

It's funny because no matter how many times I'll say it, this community is headed straight to hell.

It's funny because no matter how many times I'll say it, this community is headed straight to hell. But that's like your opinion, man. You never know, it could last. It's not opinion. Literally, none of the roleplaying sub boards are active. Save fantasy and mystery, but I can literally find enough activd roleplays on roblox within the first five pages that outnumber both by a large margin. And considering that an OOC board has more threads/posts than any other rp genre really says something.

K good this isn't whining like a little girl, this is pure frustration that only me and four other people are losing sight of our cause: to roleplay

A month in and you're already nostalgiac? Must I remind you how few RPs there were on ROBLOX? And no, you were somewhat incorrect about my reasoning for the order of creation and whatnot. I'd explain it, but my phone's a bitch. Remind me in an hour or two, please, and I'll be sure to explain it.

You say this as if there were loads of roleplays on Roblox but there weren't. People like the talk to eachother and if there are more posts in OCC thats not our fault, it's their no choice. No one is stopping you from posting in the RP section and there's no point pretending that RP is the reason behind this forum.

Yeah, I agree with you. Tim should move all of the RPS into one thread, called Roleplaying, so all of the RPs have equal share. Move the OOC to the bottm. No one wants to click through all like, what, five fucking subforums? it's silly.
But, this one has been around for like, five weeks. So there's that. new record.

I can see what you mean in regards to putting OCC at the bottom but all RPs do already have an equal share. If we move the RP board to the top it has every chance of improving the state of activity in them but it has an equal chance of doing nothing. I get the point made by Nobody that we began as a RP forum but still despite the state of the RPF now no one can deny that we had complaints about lack of RPs when we were there despite there being RPs at the time(that's what I meant by that). If you want people to join RPs we need to give them a proper incentive to do so instead of berating the forum. You need to understand that maybe some people don't want to RP and the OCC sub board is there for them to talk. I'm not living in a 'fools paradise' I just realise that at the moment people may not want to RP as much as some would like and that's okay. We're may have come from RPF but we are not there now. Give people a reason to RP and no doubt they will do so if something interests them but there's no need to change the whole forum when the clear majority don't want that change. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have more RPs on here but I realise that right now that isn't happening.

I think we should do it like ROBLOX. all of the RPs in one section. it works for roblox, it should work for us, right? chatting should be in different subforums, obviously, but roleplays should be in the same spot, with maybe TAGS on them or something, like (fantasy, ISRP/fantasy, sci-fi) etc. you know? I mean OOC will always be more popular, people like to talk, but how many people click on every single RP subforum every day to see what the roleplays are? you probably do you're important but i mean a Joe Schmoe, like me.

Or maybe you can reward people to RP, per say? Whoever gets at least 500 posts within a week in your roleplay you're automatically thrown into a lottery, where everyone wins something, like for example, 1k posts? A location to a city? A free sub board?

I feel like we should have a great RP surge or something, or mayb try to reduce the amount of OOC threads we have.
