On the language thing, I thought maybe Steven had an inherent understanding of Gem language, and that's why he could understand Peridot. I dunno.
And I believe that the Gems can have genders, but there is literally no reason to do so, because they form naturally or are created in Kindergartens. Rose was the only female, because she wanted to birth Steven and formed a reproductive system to do so. As for them all choosing female forms (I dunno about Jasper. She might be referred to w/ female pronouns, but Jasper's always a dude in my mind), I don't really know.

Garnet's probably been around for a lot longer, so she'd be better at punching things. Plus she's made o-o-o-o-of, lo-o-o-o-ove, oh oh oh oh oh, and she's stronger than you. She's probably a stronger fusion than Jasper, because you can see that her relationship is stable. Plus Jasper's got pupils and irises, normally only seen on fusions (or close ups). A weaker argument would be that most 3+ gem fusions end with the -ite suffix, i.e Sugilite, Alexandrite, Malachite. Malachite specifically. Another, kinda weak note is Jasper has two skin colors, but eh.

I did say "most". Plus, maybe this could have something to do with the "Pearl is defective" theory, but I doubt it. Now I just sound like Ronaldo.
