I don't remember my nightmares but I know I've had at least one, y'know, with all the waking up with a rush.

My worst nightmare was when me and my brother were stuck in a hospital where a deadly virus (yes, I am a germaphobic) was spreading. The ones infected would slowly turn into zombies, so, as you can tell this took place in the apocalypse. But, oddly, business was running as usual.

Worst nightmare I ever had was when a masked killer with supernatural powers went on a rampage.
Thankfully, it wasn't really scary. Unfortunately, what was scary was that the dream continued and continued every night for two straight months until the killer was unmasked to be a clone of me.

I think I had a nightmare last night, but it was also a dream at the same time.
Every nightmare is a dream, but not every dream is a nightmare. Therefore, I have more dreams than I do nightmares.
I do say, though ... Dreams are not regular.

When I was younger, I would periodically "wake up" (Not real waking, fake-out waking) hearing a woman cackling. Other than that, nothing would happen in the nightmare. It wasn't all that scary on its own, but it was a little worse when it started happening at least once weekly.
Only during Octobers, too.
I fucking hated Octobers.

The most fucked up nightmare I had didn't even involve me. It was like watching a movie as I watched someone break into a friend's house and stab them.
But that isn't the fucked up part. I came to learn next day in school that said friend's uncle got killed in a stabbing that night.

I've had the same nightmare periodically since I was four.
I can never recall exactly what happened, and I only get snippets of rainbows and a green field, and the suspense of knowing something is going to destroy it and everyone's going to die. Then there is this huge malevolent machine with a timer, which I think is what sends everything spiraling into blackness.
What's also scary is that the dream has coincided with night terrors every single time I've had it.

when i was four i had a nightmare where i woke up in an empty house
the car was gone
everyone in my family was gone
and i was all alone
it was very realistic
