Root -1 said "Be rational," and to that, Pi responded "Get real".

Heard it. Actually, saw it in a comic. The only difference was that it had pictures and it was the square root of two.

What does rational numbers have to do with roots? I'll assume that you're twelve or younger and just say that you'll learn this soon enough.

And Tim, 12 year olds don't learn about roots and rational numbers until they're one year older here in Ireland due to teaching material encouraging "easier" maths for younger people. I'm not 12 though, which is good because I can actually feel responsible for my grades now, which makes me work harder at school so I don't have to worry about my teachers bitching about me for two entire classes

To those that don't get it, there is no square route to -1 because negative times negative or positive times positive always equals positive, and a square route is a number that can be multiplied by itself, and an irrational number is a decimal that goes on infinitely without any pattern or consistency, which is what Pi is.

I kow what square roots are, but I've never gone over what rational and irrational numbers are. I knew square roots in the third grade.

I learned about rational numbers and stuff like that a little bit in seventh grade, when I was eleven. I learned the rest of that in Pre-Algebra last year in eighth grade, when I was twelve.

I'm going into eighth grade, I haven't learned much in math I didn't already know in elementary through middle school yet. I did learn scientific notation, and a few things I can't think of right now. I'll actually be learning new things in math this year.

I learned about rational numbers and stuff like that a little bit in seventh grade, when I was eleven. I learned the rest of that in Pre-Algebra last year in eighth grade, when I was twelve. I sincerely doubt that you learned about complex numbers in eighth grade. Maybe I phrased everything in that sentence wrong. I didn't don't pay attention in math class, and probably don't quite understand what you mean when you say rational numbers. What I was thinking about was that circle chart graph thing that has the real numbers circling around integers, whole numbers, and natural numbers. Integers circling around whole numbers and natural numbers, whole numbers circling around natural numbers, and then irrational numbers off to the side but still inside the circle of real numbers. I actually have no idea what complex numbers are. So you are completely correct, I, after a quick google search and reading through some math website articles, definitely did not learn about complex numbers in eighth grade. I apologize for the confusion.

They don't try hard enough in school. And funny joke Tim. lols.
