Good point. We'll have to do more science stuff then. Build a little satellite with advanced electronics and sciency scanners that will orbit the planet. Put rockets on it with lots of fuel so they can get up up and away and adjust themselves as needed. Also hire a ground control team to manage it and future satellites.

Oh yeah, with satellites, that reminds me. Have the scientists make stuff to harden our stuff against electrical attacks such as magnetic interference and EMPs, since those are both fairly common in space, but people can replicate them on the ground too, so everything has to be made safe against such attacks.

Not metagame, just defense against the hazards of space and upper atmospheric conditions. Stars are very good at disabling electronics if there isn't a good magnetosphere to protect them, and so all kinds of problems can happen. So making our wires and other electronic stuff resistant to magnetic interference and electromagnetic pulses will help everywhere.
It must be a MEGACLAM! I wonder what kind of pearls it might produce.
