-OVERVIEW
After the failure of Operation Barbarossa, the Germans' plan to take down the mighty Union of Soviet Socialistic Republic in a single campaign, even with the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, which was signed as a non-aggression agreement between Russia and Germany, and after the attempted conquest of Moscow itself and Rostov, the Third Reich had made the decision to send their sixth army, along with bits and pieces of their fourth, panzer, army, into the very gates of Stalingrad itself. Soon enough, with the Soviets having zero tolerance of the German War Machine taking their prized city named for their own dictator, Joseph Stalin, had fought back with everything they had, and the Germans reinforcing their push with as much as they could. As of August 23rd, 1942, the Nazi Regime had started the bloodiest conflict in human history, and triggered the battle that eventually fueled their demise.
--PARTICIPATING NATIONS, CLASSES, ROLES, AND INFANTRY WEAPONRY
---SOVIET UNION
So you have chosen to fight for the mighty Socialist power! This must either be because you don't like atrocities, or just because you want to win in the end, without paying any attention to the life expectancy! There's also the chance you can get the Hero of the Soviet Union medal, if you make good choices and show great bravery! Chances are, though, that you're just going to be any other drafted, 17-18-19-20 year old guy who barely managed to get past the physical exam, and isn't really too great of a shot. If you are a good shot, though, you might have the chance to be a sniper, or possibly a machinegunner!
----Rifleman
The standard, nearly insignificant rifleman or grenadier. Alone, a rifleman is just a poor wasted life which had plenty of potential, and together, riflemen can end the war once and for all! Armed with the standard Mosin Nagant M91/30 rifle, or possibly a carbine variant of it, a TT-33 or Nagant M1895 handgun, and possibly an explosive device or other such, the rifleman is the most common person on the battlefield. Plagued with slow fire rates and long, inconvenient close-quarters weapons, the rifleman is more of a slow-paced, ranged class, and if in an enclosed space, it would be smart to use your sidearm or your bare, Russian fists.
----Light Infantry
Armed with a deadly fast, stock SMG known only as the PPSh-41, along with their trusty TT-33 or M1895 sidearms, the light infantry is a close quarters class for fast-paced, action packed gameplay. In close quarters, devastating will not and can not describe how powerful this class is, but at range, it does poorly, and should always have a rifleman or two at its side.
----Light Gunner
The light gunner uses the unorthodox DP-27 machine gun, and must deploy into a fixed position in order to fire with their bipod, or else they will suffer from poor accuracy and high recoil. It is a must that they have a rifleman or sub-machinegunner at their side for defense and ammo carrying capabilities, and without one the light gunner is pretty much useless. The assistant gunner can either be a player or controlled by me.
----Heavy Gunner
Struggling from carrying your 12.7mm machine gun? That's not Stalin's problem, he says deal with it. The heavy gunner is a machinegunner armed with a tripod-mounted DShK 38 machine gun or a Maxim Gun, both of which must be manned by at least an operator, a loader, and a guard, in order to be fully mobile. Both machine guns cannot be fired while moving, and must be deployed in key positions in order to have any use whatsoever. The loader and guard can either be riflemen players or controlled by me.
----Sniper
The sniper is a stealthy, precision class, which uses a Mosin Nagant with a 3x PU scope. There is always a spotter at the sniper's side, no matter what, armed with binoculars and a normal Mosin Nagant rifle. The sniper gets the standard issue sidearm of the TT-33, and also has the chance of getting five PZ rounds of ammunition, along with their standard 54mmR ammo, which explodes on impact due to an inertia-powered internal firing pin and a big glob of explosive compound. There's also the chance that I really like you and will give you the whopping PTRS-41 rifle, so you can do what people do with anti-tank rifles when there aren't any tanks to shoot at.
----Mortar Crew
With a minimum of four people in the mortar crew, three of which might as well be controlled by me, the mortar crew gets a mortar man, a spotter, a radio man, and a guard. They must suppress enemy troops, hold off pushes, and at least hit their general area. They are commonly deployed in defensive positions, but can be aggressive at times, and if equipped with something such as the spade mortar.
----Officer
The officer really doesn't do much combat, but does command a good lot of soldiers. They are armed with a flashy Soviet trench coat and either of the issued pistols.
---NAZI REGIME
If you are reading this, you either really dislike a selection of people or ethnicities (sure hope not) or just want a fresh, new experience in the WW2 genre. The Nazis consist of Germany, Romania, Italy, Hungary, or Croatia. With a pretty much identical age group as the USSR, the Nazis are the attacking forces, and will have to push up, run around a bit, run out of breath, get shot, blahblahblah, the usual stuff. They will have to suffer from the immense winter cold in summer uniforms, along with starvation and malnutrition.
----Rifleman
Armed with a Karabiner 98K, Gewehr 98, or Gewehr 43, the rifleman, or grenadier, is the common man on the battlefield. They are obligated to make every rifle shot count, and in close quarters will be forced to swap over to their Walther P38 or Luger P.08. Many riflemen have hand grenades or satchel charges, giving them the sub-role of saboteur, at times, and they must "play for picks", and tap at the enemy whenever they peek their heads out, and try not to peek out much of their while doing so.
----Light Infantry
Traveling with the extremely controllable MP-40 or the MP-38, the light infantry is a close quarters and medium range class. It is ideal for breaching and clearing, or protecting heavy units such as machinegunners or mortar teams. They are the second most common people on the battlefield, to riflemen. Light infantry tend to go out in front of the riflemen and go into buildings first.
----Machinegunner
Equipped with the MG-34 or the MG-42 ("Hitler's Buzzsaw"), the machinegunner is a two-person team of an operator and a loader, and must be stationary and deployed on the bipod (MG-34) or tripod (MG-42) in order to fire effectively and accurately. The MG-34 is able to be fired from the shoulder or hip, but the MG-42 is not, because of the tripod mount and because of the high fire rate and large cartridge.
----Sniper
Using a scoped Gewehr 98, the sniper can be aggressive or defensive, and also has its possible chance of getting explosive ammo, called B-Patrone, which isn't nearly as effective at the Russian PZ ammo, but still works. The sniper can have a spotter, or works alone, and is equipped with a Mauser C96 "Broomhandle" or a Walther P38. There is also the chance that I will grant you the luxury of using the Panzerbüchse 39 anti-tank rifle.
----Officer
Same as the Soviet officer class, you will not do much fighting, but will command a large number of men, along with the privilege of a snazzy trench coat and Walther P38.
